The thing about Jurassic Park is that it was only ever destined to be a survival/adventure romp on the islands, not whatever they've been trying to do to it for the past decade.
We know what works, TLW and JPIII - despite their flaws - proved that, and anything having to do with the mainland needs to accidental and temporary, not the status quo. Dinosaurs being loose all over the world doesn't work.

Jurrasic park really is the example of a perfect movie. Not only is the acting on point but the pacing is perfect, the sound design is impactful, the score is amazing and the cinematography never wastes the viewers time, always showing something interesting to look at. This happened every weekend of summer vacation, without fail. 10-12 times I got chills from the opening thump-wahhh of the title screen, terrified beyond words when Arnold's stump appeared, and just absolutely all-in believing that brachiosaur shaking the screen after falling back down to all fours. The park scenes were nice, once the dinos get loose the movie is great. I'd watch two hours of just dinos eating tourists.
