And then those guys went and edited it and went, “yes we have to make these scenes work.” I propose he’s a fraud from the get go.

Empire set up a cliffhanger with Han that viewers would've felt cheated by if it weren't resolved in the next film.
It's funny how almost every single problem with Star Wars goes back to Empire. Han shouldn't even have been in that film, his character was done. He was a smuggler not some kind of rebel general.
