To be fair modern Hollywood just can't do big battles any justice so what's the point. Did you see how fucking awful the battles were in Ridley Scott's "Napoleon"? Fucking terrible. And that's just early 19th/late 18th century warfare.

Imagine how awful them trying to do a huge WW2 battle would look. Even when Hollywood was semi competent and you look at movies like "Saving Private Ryan" and "Stalingrad" most the action you see is small scale at best.

There was nothing tactically interesting about the actual battle. Just an open plain of Germans driving all of their tank reserves into extremely well-prepared defenses until they ran out of shit and had to give up.
