Why do hardcore fans love seasons 5 and 6 of Community so much? They’re atrocious compared to the “golden age” seasons, widely disliked by general audiences, regretted by the creator, and all of the actors aside from Alison are phoning it in.

5 was a dumpster fire. Somehow even worse than 4.
6 was surprisingly decent, but nowhere near the quality of the first 2 and half seasons.
Even though 2 is the fan favorite I prefer season 1 because of less gimmick episodes.

It's no kind of real story at all, it's a cartoon. The two chicks are so desirable, you still watch it. That's it. Chevy Chase doesn't get to be himself, Community is the Alison Brie show.

Wouldn't say that about 5th season but I'll always defend S6, I like it so much because it made a lot of improvements if you compare it to season 4&5

>introduced Erloy who is one of the best characters even though he's black and his shtick doesn't revolve around muh racism
>Dean personality no longer boils down to just "le funny funny costume guy" and him being part of the group made the interactions more interesting and funny
>Changs craziness is toned down and he's no longer completely insufferable like he was past seasons (excluding first two)

S6 has one of the funniest episodes in the show:

Sure, there are some weak ones but overall I like it a lot. Also the finale wasn't dogshit which is always a plus

I dont get it either, I hated seasons 5 and 6 and am a big fan of the rest but every time I search around, everyone praises them.
Same thing with 30 Rock and everything past season 4 or 5 I cant remember which is the quality nosedive right now.
