How the fuck is the CGI animation opening from this 2002 show better than SAC 2045s CGI animation 18 years later?
Also the live action film wasn't bad.

and how do you know that the 2002 animators weren't give much more time?

good CGI has nothing to do with hardwarg, but talent

late 90's, early 2000's had the best balance between computer graphics and drawn animation

the computer made shit was resource-costly so drawing had more emphasis and there was better planning with when to use CG

Always thought it was retarded how in s1 of the show everyone was wearing business suits or military/police uniforms except for the major who wears this ridiculous fetish costume even to meetings with top government officials. Thankfully they stopped doing that in the second season.

I watched the movie when it was released in the US on VHS back in the 90s you dumb faggot. It was about what it means to be human, a world where everyone has some kind of tech in them so the human guy without tech in him was important to the team, how memories can be manipulated, etc.
The show? ARREST THAT GUY!

They made the show because the movie bombed.
The japs knew the Manga was popular and an anime should get a better response than the movie did, so they made an entire fucking committee to make it good rather than vapid shit like the movie, and it was a giant hit in bothe Japan and the west, more people discover the movie after watching SAC than ever saw the film before SAC.
Then the contrarian hipster faggots decided
>first must be better
And have shit up forums ever since.

The show still broached that stuff just with less philosophical theatrics befitting a largely meditative obvious Oshii film and more of a focus on political intrigue.

The movie didn't bomb, retard. It was a huge hit and was critically acclaimed. How did zoomers because such fucking retards?
>vapid shit like the movie,
Yeah, that vapid shit of what it means to be human, the concept of consciousness and existence, a world where everyone has tech in them and the one guy who doesn't is the oddball in the world.
Again, listen to yourself, faggot.
>fucking committee
Yeah, getting a committee together always results in quality entertainment. "We need more action cop scenes! Fuck this boring 'am i really human?' shit!"
>more people discover the movie after watching SAC than ever saw the film before SAC.
Irrelevant. It's still better. Most people are conditioned for shows to binge now.
>>first must be better
Not that it must be better. If the show was better I would say so. But the movie was better. The show was just police crap.

Yes, the philosophical stuff fit much better with material than political intrigue.

I used to (rewatch) gits religiously when i was young. Loved it. The live action was so fucking bad i dropped the series completely and haven't watched a second of it since.

They literally copy paste a (middle-school level) thematic analysis OF THE FILM ITSELF into a character's fucking dialogue AND THEN they made that the fucking trailer, too. Fucking astonishing.

And then they have the robot geishas turn into full on crab tanks for le heckin epic action even though it makes no fucking technological sense. Can't hack a dishwasher into a gun, the hardware just isn't there. It's retarded.

I could go on for an hour but I'm stopping now.

>>211381966
The series would never have faded into obscurity because it's actually good. I don't need my grandma dug up from her grave and ass raped because
>durr well at least she's getting another go instead of being stuck in the ground

Yes, overuse of the term "slop" is a symptom of the disease that is zoomer brainrot. You make reductive faggot nigger statements like "it's just police crap" and call a legitimately great series slop because it doesn't have enough long empty atmosphere establishing shots with exotic chanting soundtracks for you to no doubt feel masturbatory gratification from as a confirmed true kino appreciator.

1995 is great and SAC is great. Innocence is also great. Go away tryhard contrarian nigger.

Really? How old were you when you saw it? I was in my 30s and
-i was in tears laughing at how unintentionally funny it was. In a bad way mind you, not in a good way.
-The ja-ja binks style clumsy blue robots were one of the worst things ive ever seen in an anime
-The pseudo philosophical ramblings were stupid
-The action scenes were pathetic and the "bad ass" music sounded like it was written by someone with no experience with bad ass rock music, and i was right because Yoko Kanno is a classically trained musician not a rock star. So every time she tries to do stuff outside of her lane it just sounds cheesy as fuck

The scene where she's having a serious meeting with her bosses, in this lavish expensive office, and everyone is wearing suits.... then the camera pulls back and she's literally not wearing any pants - that was one of the FUNNIEST fucking things ive ever seen in my life. It was like a scene from the Naked Gun... or The Simpsons when troy mcclure forgot to wear his pants in court that time.

They expect you to take the show seriously when the lead character is half naked?
