Good flick but this scene is not realistic. No one drinks vodka like that. A realistic depiction would mixing that vodka with orange juice or something.

It would be more realistic if he mixed it with powerade and started at about 1:1 mix but after a couple drinks of steadily making them stronbger it ends up being 90% vodka with just a splash of powerade for color and electrolytes and the cashier at the grocery store starts giving him shit for buying a handle of vodka and 3 bottles of powerade 2-3 times a week at 6 am when the grocery store opens even though it's just because he has no car and wants to walk there and back before it gets too hot, he's not drinking it at 6 am. At least not much, just a little bit to get through the day until he can start drinking it again after another day of not hearing back from any of the places I applied to.

I mean how could he drink all that with his hands shaking so hard? he never even took the plastic top out or bought a plastic handle you can just squeeze vodka right down your throat? Took me right outta the movie.

A week ago i was in the supermarket and saw a woman around 50 yo buy a small 500 ml vodka bottle.
When i went outside i saw her sitting on the curb and she was chugging it. It was 9 AM on a Tuesday.
Weird part is she looked normal, dressed ok, didn't look unkempt or anything.

These days I just assume with all the drugs people are taking that a large amount of people are just operating on some sort of high. Maybe that’s just a cope.

Alcohol and drugs have been around since before we even had civilization, they're definitely part of our cultural coping mechanism, and with global market access i think its become more prominent.
