What about Jirafales and Sr Barriga? Jirafales was Chespirito's Smithers and Sr Barriga has a good relationship with Chespirito's children

>What about Jirafales and Sr Barriga?
Those two are very well represented in the story, as well as Ramon, Angelines and Maria Antonieta. That's the series' strong point, they achieved impeccable casting for most of the original crew.

>biopic made by his son
of course it's biased.

Should have been made by someone unrelated to the crew. But who cares, it's an unnecessary biopic. It's common knowledge in Mexico that El Chavo and other lowbrow comedies were a huge success because the government pushed it. It was all a psyop, they really needed to feed the people slop.

Made in an era when the government heavily abused of its population, additionally to the military they had special groups composed of "civilians" and "students" that did their dirty work, eventually those groups became the first cartels.

Of course this story will never be told on a biopic.

>Mexico is a country with a fucked working-class… who aren't going to get out of this mess. Television has an obligation to bring entertainment to these people and take them away from their sad reality and their difficult future. The middle class, the lower middle class, the upper middle class. Rich people like me aren't customers, because rich people don't buy shit.

Emilio "The Tiger" Azcárraga, owner of Televisa back then.

it makes it seem like carlos already had a show lined up and was trying to talk ramon into leaving with him, but that happened much later. first carlos was fired (some say because quico was more popular than chavo and this rustled roberto's jimmies, others that it had to do with their love triangle with florinda), then he could only find job in venezuela, and ramon had his own problems with roberto (like him letting florinda direct episodes despite having no prior experience) and eventually left the show and joined carlos in venezuela for that shitty ripoff they made there

the version i remember of this story is that Carlos Villagran left the cast after the Acapulco trip episode because he wanted to get the rights for playing Quico for himself, Chespirito told him to fuck off because HE made Quico so he owned the rights to his character, they got into a legal dispute with this that lasted for nearly the rest of Chespirito's life and in the middle of it, made a deal in one of these court calls to prevent Carlos from ever getting a job in Mexican television ever again. Other countries joined because they didnt want to lose the TV rights for El Chavo, except for Venezuela (and it wasnt one show, he starred in a bunch of shitty shows that featured him as Not-Quico).
the deal with Ramón is that he left both because of the job offer Carlos got him and because its said that Roberto was banging Florinda in secret and going out with her which is why her character gets a bar in an episode and why there's so much more focus on her after a certain point in the show, and he didnt like her being that close to Roberto and, according to him, too controlling over the show's direction.

We don't need this shit, we know Roberto was a genius and that all the cast were the most amazing actors (yeah, even Carlos)
I don't care, they never nail the story in any biopic

I guess the real story is too convuluted and they want to make a product accesible to the masses, basically a telenovela

It's a modern Greek tragedy adapted to the telenovela format

>A public story known by everybody
>The MC is a virtous man that gets an elevated position
>He ends commiting a tragic mistake by his own vices (leaving his wife for Florinda Mesa)
>He's constantly warned that he's following the wrong path but don't listen
>We as the audience know he will fail at the end

Of course it's not Oedipus Rex because it's a telenovela but still

Chespirito was a serial cheater but he wasn't a rapist. All his affairs were consensual, at least as far as we know

To be fair, cheating is a misdemeanor in latino culture. Every man does it and the wife learn to live with it. That's why Chespirito's wife forced Chespirito to get a vasectomy in 1975, 3 years before he started his affair with Florinda Meza (I seriously doubt the show will tackle that). In any case, the real questionable thing Chespirito did was leaving his wife.
