unc was literally called Stockton. It was over before it even began.

Maybe The Rehearsal guy can research him like what he did with Sully.

He came from old money, and his family seemed to be grooming him as some kind of future American hero in whatever field he chose. They seem to have given up on that when it transpired from his school grades that he was of only slightly above average intelligence. I think he spent his entire life trying to prove to his family and himself that he was worth a shit, and so chose deep sea exploration as the thing that would make him famous and give him validation, knowing that it was an industry he could easily cut corners in.

>>211399991That sounds like a great line for the trailer of the movie
Why didn't they just fill the sub with water or piss to stabilize the pressure difference?
>>211399570 (OP)He was an aeronautical engineer who got used to risking his life in self designed experimental aircraft and thought he was a trailblazer going against conventional wisdom. His carbon fiber sub *did* work making it down to the titanic a number of times but it was not durable and he failed to heed its warnings that it was worn out and needed to be retired.

The man was 100% pure greed start to finish
He was a visionary and his team of millennial dipshits let him down
Did he design the sub? No.
Did he physically build the sub? No.
He was a man with a dream whose only mistake was believing in young people, paying them to do a job, and then giving them a chance to do something great. Then THEY let him down by making an absolute piece of shit of a submarine.
Do you really think a man who is supposedly a narcissist would risk his own life like that? He trusted his team, wanted to hire a diverse group of young people, and then those kids completely screwed him. They were probably taking frequent "mental health" days and generally being lazy, as all millennial workers are, then slapped something together at the last minute and told him it was safe.
Now everyone is piling on, trying to blame the deceased "old rich white man" who can't defend himself because his crappy team's terrible engineering got him crushed to death underwater.
