Ellie is a fucking Mary Sue.

Normally we'd all agree, but she has such a handicap with that face that it basically balances out

This adaptation fucked up both characters. Ellie is way more insane and Dina is way more manipulative in the game. The show is watering down the cruelty of the game. Ellie can't even kill dogs anymore.

It feels like the adaptation has fucked up most of the characters. I'm playing through the game for the first time(I've only just gotten to Seattle), and so far all of the characters are much better written, and even the acting in the cutscenes is better than anything on the show. I still don't think the story is very good, but doing characters right makes up for a lot of its shortcomings(the game play is also fun but of course that doesn't translate to TV). Yet again HBO shits the bed.

aren't all video game protagonists Mary Sues since the game ends if you die?
