There are basically two options: rest of your service is a living hell as a result (because stuff like this leaves a stain in your papers) OR you end up drummed out and your contract terminated, which, depending on specifics, can have way worse consequences (say, Army agreed to pay for your college and now you aren't doing your part of the deal).
If this was under conscription: one-way ticket to a penal unit, so you get the shittiest detail for the rest of your tour. Fuck THAT up and it's prison time, potentially way fucking longer than your tour.
In other words: if you're in any armed forces, respect the chain, no matter how absurd, or you will get fucked.
