If you like Battletech/Mechwarrior aesthetics Dougram is worth checking out, it was a massive influence on Battletech.
Armored Trooper VOTOMS is also a classic, and influenced Heavy Gear if you ever played those games back in the day. The tread-feet make the mechs kinda agile, but they're also all shitboxes, no protagonist specials or anything that shrug off hits.

Earlier series which a good chunk of the Big O staff worked on, it's an amazing series based on the OG mecha manga while also blending a bunch of influences together, from romance of the three kingdoms to opera.
