Just watched this, honestly kinda disappointed. The opening scene was amazing but after that basically every plot development only happens because everyone is a retard and nothing makes sense.
>>211409197 (OP)The opening scene feels like a different movie. So good
>>211409270Apparently the opening scene was directed by the director of the first movie, and the entire rest of it by the new guy. That must have been would crushing for him to hear how universally people prefer the beginning to his part of it.
>>211409197 (OP)When the wife finally got her revenge on that cowardly husband, I stood in the theater and clapped shouting Kino.
>>211409270I've read that the opening scene was directed by danny boyle and that's his only contribution to the sequel. can't be bothered to check if that's true but sounds about right
>>211409970She forgave him immediately just for him to gouge her eyes out and rip open her throat
>>211410202It’s a fine movie that nevertheless disappoints because it starts as an amazing movie
>>211410603She didn't forgive him. She lured him in to her trap to get revenge
>>211410722She didn’t know she could transmit the virus THOUGH
>>211410921Oh she knew alright. That's why she stared at him afterwards in satisfaction. He got his consequence for abandoning her. Such a queen moment!
>>211411023Except then she was locked in a room with a zombie that bit her throat out
>>211409775>>211410097Only the scene where Begbie rushes to the boat was directed by Boyle

>>211409197 (OP)Do you guys think 28 Years Later will be good?
>>211411773>Boyle>Garland>Anthony as dp>Young Fathers composingToo much kino for one movie. If it's shit, I'll eat my own cum
>>211411773Not a chance in hell. But Boner Temple could be kino
>>211411023Yes, she must have felt such satisfaction as he viciously dug his thumbs into her eye sockets.
>>211409197 (OP)correct, opening scene was great, rest was so boring I don't even remember it
>>211412684Obviously, he wasn't supposed to do that part. He was meant to be docile and ignore her like all the other zombies. She was the chosen one.
>>211409970>cowardly husbandNo, she was dumb with literally zero survival instincts and it's entirely her fault that everyone died.
>>211409970Bagpie did nothing wrong, literally the only sane person in the opening.
Plus the opening is effectively Selene's backstory, except White Lite edition.
>>211409197 (OP)>Opening is awesome>Imagene Poots first major role>Renner wasn't half bad>The flamethrower scene was genuinely tense>The chopper scene was absurd, but funEverything else is pure, unfiltered sewage
>>211411773It's a sequel based on Weeks' ending, so no, not at all. It's going to be pure garbage, no matter the talent poured into it.
>>211415297Oh I thought it was the new one
>>211411773I hope it is and want it to be. But that trailer concerns me. It looks like they're going with the variant zombie craze and it's a little cheesy. Should have been 28 months later, a more conservative time after 28 weeks, and the virus spread beyond England. You still get your zombie outbreak scenes everyone actually wants to see and you don't have to resort to a lame ass gimmick like "le variant zombies le evolved". But maybe they'll pull it off. But given the state of the industry I don't have high hopes.
>>211415684Months would never have been good. It'd just be more of the same and not worth making. These movies always have to do something different to get an audience
>>211411773just watch army of the dead
Genuinely feel bad for the wife. Her heart was in the right place even if she was a fucking idiot. So she gets bludgeoned and bitten by infected, and then strapped down and unable to do shit as her husband buries his thumbs in her eyes and cracks her head into goo. It's fucking BONKERS.
>>211409197 (OP)Honestly I felt the main villain was too powerful and they should have toned him down.
The entire premise of Weeks is fucking retarded from the get-go. Even if the movie had been good it falls apart under the slightest bit of scrutiny.
London and all the major cities would be the LAST places repopulated, if at all. The entire area would be militarised as fuck to prevent looting, and various corporations/governments would be reclaiming and moving official records out. There would be no interest in placing normal people near those operations. Cities are full of buildings that need to be swept, there's a risk of wild animals that might still have the infection and general risk of pestilence. Limited road connections, etc. Too many variables to account for in densely built up areas.
All the agricultural, sewage, power plants, small airports, fast roads? They're in the country. The most defensible areas with natural barriers like hills and rivers are small towns and villages in strategic areas (basically any town with an old fort because medieval people weren't dumb, they knew where to put their castles). Moreover there are lots of them and spread out so repatriating people in clumps far apart means if one falls to infection, the others are safe and prepared.
The entire plot is fucking retarded, nobody would be in fucking London. They would be in areas just like the ones shown in 28 Years Later. THAT shit makes sense.
>>211420622No, he has the point.
That's what to be expected from Years
>>211421560A quick cash grab on rising popularity of zombies caused by the very movie we are sequeling to is retarded? Who would expect!
>>211409970She let in a kid running from a horde. If she didnt do that they'd all be alive there would of never been a second outbreak
>>211412684she knew, just that the husband had something different in him. the dude wanted to kill his kids at all costs, he wasnt a raging maniac like the rest
