>>211414954The Tough Crowd group was the last meaningful group of comedians. Patrice is dead, Giraldo is dead, Attell is so depressed it's actually unsettling, Colin is still exiled from entertainment, Vos is still funny but funny in a Vos sort of way, Jim is doing his best but it's clear that he is putting a ton of effort in just to stay standing still, Keith had a stroke, and you can extend this out to almost all of them from that era. Dane Cook is still sort of funny, but he's like a fighter who got his ass kicked and has no swagger left. Florentine is still funny, but a nobody basically. Bob Kelly has no tour dates coming up. Nick DiPaolo is in Anthony Cumia land of allowing politics to unfunny him. Then you have guys like Bill Burr who is so castrated and unlike his old self that he's functionally dead. It really just goes on and on. Joe Rogan is a big name now and he had to buy a comedy club for that to be the case. He was Z-tier back in the day, still is Z-tier, and now he's top tier because the market rewarded whatever the fuck he is over people that are actually funny. If there was any justice at all, Joe Rogan and Colin Quinn would switch from a success standpoint.
