Or is he just remembering all of the bad things he's done in his life? I'm going through withdrawals right now, and I am leaning on the latter.

Its not hallucinations, they're more fever dreams. If you've ever had a really bad flu you might have experienced something like it. You'll fixate on something and you'll see it every time you close your eyes for days and days which is going to be most of the time because you'll want to be asleep constantly.

For me I couldn't imagine anything worse than being online though. just pirate 150 movies on a plex media server and let them run continuously. you won't be watching them anyway because you'll be in and out of sleep but the dialogue and sounds will help your mind get out of itself imo. Its the perfect time for cape slop

Have you ever gone through withdrawals? Everything he says is true, especially when you feel it coming on as being "in the post." Such an apt metaphor. I don't see anything or have fever dreams, but I am sweating, yawning, and aching really bad. It's like the worst flu I've ever had, which I get is your point in many respects.
