Neo in the first movie. He goes from a punk loser in the first act, to a confused puppy in the second, to a confident threat in the third act. The sequels and John Wick by design simply have him as being competent the entire time, which he plays well, but it's not as interesting.

Jwick is just neo in a different iteration of the matrix. Morpheus is in it. Johnwick takes place in the matrix.
