That's because most people are plebs about film. Like most are plebs about the piano, the drums, etc. If you've ever known a semi-serious musician, for example, they will actually say something interesting about music, than what "normal" people say.

There's plenty you can say about the writing, pacing, dialogue, acting, cinematography, and special effects. When it comes to film, there's several dimensions of things to discuss. Conversely, discussing music is much harder, because it really does boil down to just "I liked it" or "I didn't like it"
