Unironically one of the best movies ever made. Having watched it dozens of times there’s barely a single scene where something needs to be told instead of shown. It would suck to lose out on sounds but it could easily work as a silent movie if it needed to.

The colour grading was massively over done, Tom Hardy had nothing to work with, and it was very hard to sympathise with the wives since everyone else in the movie was also a slave but had it much, much worse. The memes were good though.

Madness. The middle of Furiosa where she's working for Immortan Joe is top notch, the fight with the guys flying around on ultra lights in particular is up there with the finale of Road Warrior for best action scene in the series.

But the start of the film with Furiosa as a little girl is dull and too long and the finale of the film where she catches up with Thor just drags on for way too long. His speech is good; but I got the point half way through it. Overall I do like the film; but to me it has more boring bloat than any of the other films.

Sorry man; but the more girl bosses they added the more my eyes rolled. When Furiosa was the toughest chick in Australia I was willing to roll with it. When Furiosa's mother and her lesbo lover both turn out to be one man army super soldier snipers then it started to get silly. Plus that whole section was boring regardless of how thirsty you were for her.

On a side note those sniper scenes lose a lot of impact when you know just how impossible it is to nail someone off a motorcycle at full speed from 500 yards with a fucking 7.62X39 semi auto SKS that she's manually operating the bolt on for some reason.

Thor's 'we're more alike than you think' and 'I'm so tired of it all speech' went on for like 10 solid minutes and it conveyed everything it needed to in two minutes. Additionally the plant ending is retarded and detracted from her being dissatisfied with having to settle for just popping him in the head; which was a much better ending. Like you just give me a ten minute long speech about the futility of revenge and then you try to have your cake and eat it too; by ass pulling this bullshit. That should have died on the cutting room floor.

The film needs a director's cut that trims off about 5 minutes of speech and the stupid ending.

And on yet another side note; showing me some of the war between Immortan Joe and Thor instead of just hand waving it with narration so we can skip forward to Furiosa's revenge wouldn't have gone amiss.

I like Thunderdome more than most people.

In contrast to Furiosa I really like Tina Turner's character in it. She's running a post apocalyptic army of men with cunning, ruthlessness and charisma. I think that's a much more logical way of portraying a strong woman in the post apocalypse than Furiosa and the various other inexplicably strong girl boss killing machines we got in Fury Road and Furiosa.

My only real complaint with Thunderdome is that the final chase scene is too close to being an inferior copy of the final chase scene from Road Warrior.

Very start of the film. The bad guys come in and abduct Furiosa. Strong female character #1 (pic related) comes out and snipes a few of the bikers at 200 yards with the SKS. She shares an intimate moment with Furiosa's mom where they embrace and she hands her the SKS and sends her off to retrieve Furiosa.

They did. The gunfights in the film are all way over the top with how accurate the heroes are. Which I'm willing to roll with a bit because it is an over the top franchise although the action has turned into more super hero fare in the last two films as opposed to the first three films.

But as I said, I'm willing to roll with Furiosa as the toughest chick in Australia. However the more girl bosses they introduce the more silly it gets.

This would have been a perfect opportunity to display a different type of female strength. If her mother wasn't some commando and she had to come up with a plan to rescue her daughter through cunning and deception and bravery instead of just rolling in and shooting everyone.

But instead we just get the exact same character as Furiosa. She's the toughest chick in Australia who no man can match. And what's worse I've seen the toughest chick in the world that no man can match character so frequently over the past decade that any novelty it might have has worn off. I've seen this story, again and again and again and yet despite all the attempts at female heroes Hollywood has cranked out over the past decade hardly any of them are actually written as women. They're just the same script you'd write for Arnold Schwarzenegger or Sylvester Stallone; but now you've got a 120 pound woman playing the part.

Its boring and I'm glad that it finally seems to be dying off.
