It's an alright movie. Decent enough flick. 6/10

It was only an hour into the movie that I realized I wasn't watching a nature documentary on chimpanzees, as usually happens when I see black "people" on screen

I thought this big fat lady was the dude's mom, and then he started fucking this ogre, and I wanted to vomit.

Solid 7/10 movie, the subtext is weak because the father and pastor gets vindicated on how music and blues is degenerate. All the black degens get killed and all the faithful christians dont get touched.

I enjoyed it a lot, despite some issues with the portrayal of the vampires and a few nitpicks with the storytelling. I'm hoping there will be a prequel about Remmick since it's apparent throughout that he was a musician that was at some point manipulated into what he became.
He's the Sauronman to the Sauron. Then again, maybe that's the point? That you never see the true evil.

Slop, but I liked the music scenes.

I didn't really get that impression, considering the two wights (heh) that follow Remmick are originally Klan members, but seem to abandon that presumed pretense after being subjugated.
The theme of the movie is the aforementioned music industry analogue, but the point of the Klan in the film is that they would never allow niggers to play music, even if they did like it or could profit of it. Honestly that was one of my major issues with the film; that being the Klan's existence within the plot at all. Didn't seem necessary, and their role in the ending felt like it came out of nowhere. I expected Smoke to give himself up to Stack and for the twins to run Club Juke for eternity as a means to achieve their success, stay together, and unintentionally bring harmony to the South by creating a safe haven for music vampires (of all ethnic backgrounds) to party, to the point where even the elderly Sammie would visit and nobody would fuck with him out of respect, similar to the ending we got.

Remmick is musical, anti-bigotry and genuinely believes turning everyone is for the best. He even has an allusion about his backstory of being oppressed by Christianity.
The klan is just there to be racist and kill black people.
I like your alternative ending, but you have to understand that there had to be a mass murder of racist white people for this movie to get funding.

S'alright, but the music portion of the lore was complete filler and added essentially nothing to the film (the vampires were already there). Also, it was too long. They should've cut at least 45min out... nobody wants to watch a two and half hour horror movie.

As long as the person that turned you is still alive, you are bound or enchanted by him to some extend. It's a hive mind with Remmick at the centre, when he died it all collapsed to some degree. I think had the two whites lived pretty good chance they'd probably be more themselves.

The movie ends like 60 years later and Smock and Abby havent Vampirified the whole world, so their desire to turn people seem to have died and cooled down after Remmicks gone.

What's more interesting, the native americans are hunting him in an organized manner, meaning other vampires or mystical beings are real enough and frequent enough to warrent them to hunt them. The movie really could have used some world building.

the ambient guitar throughout the second half was distractingly bad. sounded like lethal weapon during romantic or dramatic scenes.

A black people movie so already not a fan, not a fan of blues or jazz either.

The only part I liked was Remmick and the Rocky Road to Dublin song was a complete banger and better than anything else in the entire film. Would have rather just watched a movie about him.

Remmick was obviously the best part, but I was annoyed by how when he is talking to Sammie at the end he switches to the Irish accent when he begins joining him in the prayer and then switched back again to the fucking Southerner accent. Maintain the Irish accent from the second he begins the prayer till he dies for God's sake.
