>>211447525 (OP) I remember even as a kid absolutely dreading see this as the only movie on TV. It's so fucking boring I haven't re watched it since the early 00s
>>211447556 it certainly doesnt help that the entire thing is gray. ask someone the first image that comes to their mind with this film and its bound to be something wet and gray. ugly ass film
>>211447808 I liked the build up of Godzilla, and the looming threat he was. Every human character in the American films that followed are worse >>211447851 I agree that 98 looks like a dino monster. I disagree that 14 looks like a turdpile. I think 14 actually looks like Godzilla, while 98 looks like a Jurassic Park reject
>>211447898 This is what Godzilla looks like. If you want me to grant that 98 isn't very faithful to it, I will. I will not concede that 2014 looks anything like this though.
>>211447948 I will also give you the Legendary Godzilla is a lot fatter than the Japanese iterations, but I like how it looks I also liked how Godzilla looked in the Netflix animated films
>>211447525 (OP) the movie's really fucking dumb and bad but i still watch it for nostalgia purposes. the scene where the air force bombs godzilla while he's wrapped in the suspension cables is great though >stallion five, tally one on the bridge
Godzilla in this movie itself is fine. I don't care that he can't tank nukes or survive blackholes like later power creep would add to him. They just wanted to go back to basics and treat Godzilla as a big dinosaur-like creature powered by radiation. '98 is still weaker than '54 who could only get killed by a sci-fi weapon, but I'm ok with that for the purposes of modernizing the concept. The real problem is the human characters are just so fucking awful to watch. It's like thye're all rejects from the independence day script. Just really fucking annoying goofballs.
