I still have no idea why Han survived the carbon freezing, or what the fuck the point of the carbon freezing subplot even was. Seemed goofy as hell.
Speaking of which, how the fuck did they even escape Cloud City without anybody tailing them? Like Luke falls into the Millenium Falcon and everything's A-OK. Nobody chases them or whatever. It's time for the movie to end, so the antagonists just give up lol.

Who is going to tail them? Cloud city doesn't care and Darth vader only had a few people occupying the city. There would be lots of traffic coming and going so you can't monitor every ship.

You reaize how fast light speed it? Once you go into it, it's impossible to track someone. Even if you follow them, if they are going into a different direction by a couple degrees, they end up hundreds of miles apart in a short distance up or down from your position. That's how vast space it.

Han was the leader of the group by end of ESB. The trilogy is Luke’s hero’s journey, so he needed breathing room to become a leader (and save Han in RotJ)
Carbonite freezing allowed for that without killing Han

It was a way to write Han out if Harrison Ford didnt want to return for Jedi

They did get tailed by some TIE Fighters just as they rescued Luke, which then followed them into space where the Star Destroyers were.
