The Death Star being rebuilt is a bit silly, but it’s mostly nullified by a few things:
1) Palpatine leaked the plans on purpose to draw the rebel fleet and leadership into an ambush
2) He sent the most elite unit of Stormtroopers the Empire has to intercept the Rebel infiltration team
3) He trapped the Rebel fleet between a shield that’ll immediately obliterate them upon contact and a massive imperial armada
4) Just in case: the Emperor utilized battle mediation to keep the tide of battle in his favor (and for those who say this is EU shit, it’s clear the Emperor’s influence is doing something, since imperial morale crumbles the second he dies).

Jabba's Palace is great but it doesn't really work as part of the movie. They bring back Han and that's about it. I think in an ideal time line they could've done something like released it with Indiana Jones as an extra presentation. Then give the rest of RotJ more time to actually flesh out the ewoks and give Han and Leia more stuff to do in the final battle rather than sit in front of a door.

I don't care about the ewoks, I just found the story to be stupid. The Throne Room is great, but the context is retarded, as is Darth Vader's redemption. Han Solo's inclusion in the film despite having nothing to do except... disable a shield generator that isn't located on/within the very thing it shields(???) is dumb as fuck.
It's half adventure serial which is awkward coming off of Empire Strikes Back, and midway through the main protagonist abandons it to continue the plot that could've already been concluded.
The entire story should've been, at most, two movies, and that's if "Star Wars" was written with the presumption of a Part Two, which it wasn't, so the whole overarching story becomes a tonal clusterfuck that doesn't flow properly.

It has a lot of fucking issues. Death Star 2.0, Leia being Luke's sister, Ewoks beating the Empire finest, weaker effects than even ANH (really terrible backgrounds) dialogue was weaker than ANH/ESB etc.

Jabba's palace (even if the plan is wonky) and Luke/Vader really REALLY help save this movie from being prequel level bad.
