There was a foreshadowing of this with in Meereen with her being pretty heavy handed in the city against Tyrion's persistent sound advice. Also, it seems obvious to me that the Targaryens in the Song of Ice and Fire had produced a tendency to mental illness from generations of inbreeding.
As the show progressed, It became clear to me that Daenerys became more demanding and incorrigible the bigger her dragons got. There's an obvious morality tale about the corrupting effects of absolute power, that could only end badly.
Arya basically ruined the entire show for me more than anyone by becoming a Mary Sue, even though the first half of her story is pretty good.
Her killing of the Night King was absolutely outrageous because it should have Jon.
Jon devoted his entire life to keeping the Knight King at bay and ultimately died for it.
It would have been cliche but anyone killing the big baddie other than Jon just doesn't make any sense.
The other thing I hated is how they wasted the whole three eyed Raven story line. It basically had no relevance to outcome of Westeros as far as I can tell.
