Disney should switch course and make an animated version of this live action classic. And an animated remake of the live action Lion King film. Also a Song of the South remake where that slave guy is animated and Brโ€™er Rabbit is live action.

Or a remake of Victory Through Air Power with the animated sections changed to live action, and vice versa.

We need a live-action musical version of this, starring Miley Cyrus, Anne Hathaway, and Julie Andrews, and songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda.

I unironically hope they do this and keep remaking the remake.

I saw this in my late teens after my first attempt at chugging dxm syrup. Naturally it ended with me puking it up, along with the Yoshinoya Beef Bowl I had eaten. Then I had to pretend I was โ€œsickโ€ and not robotripping my balls off cuz my gf was uptight, but this very good movie put me in a much better mood. 8.5/10

I do think Disney should do animated Treasure Island and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Do whatever old adventure movies they have in their catalogue and expand to other classic novels too. And we need The Absent-Minded Professor/Flubber back for the new generation. The Dexter Riley movies too make those animated too.

Turn the Medfield College movies and other "Wacky college sports movies" into a sports anime pastiche where every team has some kind of rules-bending gimmick

Atlantis was originally planned as a Journey to the Center of the Earth movie, but a Harper Goff-esque submarine was too cool to not throw in anyways.

Nadia's not a good 20K adaptation either. Too busy ripping off Laputa and Atragon.

I will always think about this movie as the obsession of R.Crumb's brother in Crumb. How as a child he regularly dressed up as Long John Silver, and how ultimately it was driven by his pedophillic attraction to young Bobby Driscoll, and his sense that by embodying the character of Long John as played by Robert Newton, he would somehow manifest an attractive cabinboy of his own. It's somehow both creepy and poignant.

Disney's first live action movie. He only made it because Britain wouldn't just let him take all the profits his cartoons made out of the country, but they would let him invest the money in a UK production he could sell the world over.
