I'm asking this with 100% sincerity:

Who is still following this series? It's like it has an anti-fanbase that hates everything about it yet it still has toys and games that sell well. It's not even like the haters are a vocal minority either. Who is this appealing to if so many people don't like it? Is it purely nostalgia that drives it now?

I like Lucas' 6 movie saga. I like Genndy Wars. I like some of the EU and some of the games. Most of what Disney has done with it is very embarrassing. People view it as a cultural symbol and there's truth to it. The utter sloppification of Star Wars is comparable to the downfall of le West, as are the perpetrators. I don't waste much energy on hating the Disney slop though. My main concern with the brand is the cultural relevance of the Prequels, which in my opinion are the pinnacle of the story.

It depends. I think the Jedi games did okay but remember the second one having terrible performance, which may have impacted sales. Battlefront should have done well but EA got so greedy that there was literal laws being made over its abusive monetization scheme. No idea about the dogfight game. I don't think anyone even remembers it exists. Disney's opened up the license and Ubisoft took a massive shit on it recently. That's about how things stand right now.

Obviously less people now, but the main movies are incredible in their drop off in quality, still itโ€™s one of the better series of films to date

Give it a few years and you'll see one of the strangest fucking mainstream gimmicks for fiction everywhere that makes multiverse crap look sane and Star Wars will be a big, bright target for it.

It's a series for children. What Disney has done to it is hideous except Andor and rogue one but only because those are interesting to connect the prequels to the OT. The Xwing games were great. The force and Jedi, are faggy. But in the end it's for children and that's okay. Millenials we're supposed to grow out of it and secretly let their kids find it and enjoy it, and when they become just a little older it helps to bond kids and parents during those weird teenage years. If you're a childless adult and your house is filled with Star wars stuff, gas yourself.

It's a franchise with 3 big eras
>The Original trilogy era
>The Prequel era
>The Disney era

I like the OT and Prequel era but loathe everything Disney has done with the franchise and haven't watched any of it since The Rise of Skywalker

The young males in their mid 20s to early 30s that grew up with the prequels.

I don't think they are. There's not really this revisionist history that the prequels are somehow good just because later movies are terrible. That said the cartoons were alright.

It has like 3 good movies, a couple ok movies and the Genndy short animations. That ratio is ever worse than the Jurassic Park franchise.

its a series for people to understand how media was before it was dominated by jews. the whole series is about the politics of ww1, ww2, korea/vietnam, ect. Its not a 'series for children'. It's a series for white people about white history and your brain rejects it when you see it filled with nonwhites and nonwhite ideas.

I feel like we've come full circle. Star Wars was meant to be be for dorks but became a global mainstream phenomenon, remained a normie mainstay for decades, and now the only people who have actually watched most Star Wars contents are fucking dorks
