Still haven't watched this. Tbh the only anime i ever watched was KLK, AOT, and watamote in 2014 in HS. I want to get into anime but I sort of have choice paralysis these days. I watched Jin roh recently and loved everything about it.

Its definitely victim of hype. Its one of those anime where a ton of people saw it as a teenager and they remember it as being way deeper than it actually is... and spend a ton of time pontificating on how le deep it is. Out of the 26 eps only like 7 of them are good works of art. Its a masterclass in blocking and cinematography by Hideaki Anno, at least. The last 5 episodes are disappointing to me. The movie End of Evangelion is awesome though, and I actually prefer it to the 26 ep series.
