The best rebuttal to the love theme haters I've seen. It makes all of them look like plebs.

it fucking sucks and its cringe but
>have 2 drones with memory
>impulses or brain chemicals signal them to search for eachother
>memory reminds them of the importance of being close
>solve to problems to get close to eachother
>OMG LOVE OMG AAAAAAAAAAA SPACE
there you go.

Im fine with the theme of love but the scenes or earth are still quite dull. You're always waiting for them to end so you can get back to space

Why do Nolan movies post Prestige have an insane amount of exposition??
It's almost like people complained to Nolan they didn't understand the sinple plot of The Prestige so he took it personally.

>Why do Nolan movies post Prestige have an insane amount of exposition??
Because of the genre. Inception is a heist film and heist always have a lot of exposition. Same for scifi films. He has already shown he can do a film with minimal exposition with Dunkirk.

The ending being about the power of familial love and returning to your home doesn't work thematically with the rest of the movie which is all about the need for exploration and how humanity is being held back by people who're stuck in the past.
They should have either gone full reddit science and have Cooper find some epic future/alien shit in the wormhole, or the ending should have been a tragedy where Cooper ends up stuck in the black hole as punishment for his ambitions. (the part where it looks like he's stuck and regrets leaving is the best part of the film)

I didn’t love the movie on first watch, then fell for the Interstellar bad meme, but I rewatched it for the first time the other day and loved it.

For whatever thematic messiness it might have it’s one of the few films that really earns the moniker “epic.” The music, the visuals, the ambition of its story—it captures the “magic of filmmaking” better than maybe any other movie.

It's really pretty. Visuals and sounds are nice to enjoy. Just don't pay attention to what's happening and you'll be entertained. The setups are just handwavy nonsense to justify cool scenes. It's for when you want something amazing to look at not for when you want to think deeply about the intricacies of a really plausible story. It's not that.

True, it's the climax that has that theme, not the ending proper, though that's even worse.

Why? It’s retarded. It’s similar to
>I need to fly from Los Angeles to London in one hour.
>You can’t fly that far in that little time/
>Yeah but I need to.
Like okay? That’s kind of irrelevant considering you can’t.

I hated that. His daughter had hare entire life to cope about never seeing his father again and all she can say when she's blessed with those 5 mins is "yeah, just go"
But the father? he just suddenly enters a room where her daughter is old and dying, no time to process it, and he's just: yeah, bye

Not only is another flick where the scifi aspec is cosmetical, but the melodrama part is just as half assed

fuck this movie
