I wouldn't know. I've lost too many friends and cousins to that shit. I would never touch it.

Its the absolute worst thing you can go through.

For almost a week you're going through intense physical pain, flu like symptoms, fatigue, restlessness, depression, anxiety and fever inducing shit.

Yeah I’m going through it rn and it’s rough
Imo the “hallucinations” are just all the things he’s been numbing with heroin coming back to him en masse. It’s the anxiety and depression, which I’m also going through.

i went to rehab and detoxed from a 13mg/day benzo habit over the course of like two weeks with the help of barbiturates. it was fine. the alcoholics were in more danger than the heroin addicts. your legs just itch a lot. take some clonidine and shut the fuck up.

>aaaaaah I have to suffer for a week just to get over the drug that has completely ruined every aspect of my life!!!

we need something stronger than fent so druggies will off themselves faster, they're addicted because they're weak

This is more like withdrawing from tylenol.

My mom died of liver failure from drinking nothing but a 24pack of Miller Lite every day for decades, it’s less about what or how much you drink than the consistency of it at a certain point.

Why do people feel the need to compare such things? Doesn’t it make you look even more retarded? That you simply fell for the normie version of being a junkie?

forgot pic
I'm 30, thin but out of shape and have been consistently drinking about 6-8 beers/day for roughly one decade. Smoke too. Quit drinking for a week once to see if I could, felt fine, just had light insomnia, but it didn't drastically change anything. No withdrawal otherwise. Would that euphoria clarity chip carriers talk about come from actually wanting to quit to change your life around you think?

Once every few months I'll have a weekend where i binge a lot more than usual. Like a 30pk in 2 days. This ends me up hung over for several days straight and have to drink just water and chicken broth to stop shitting piss
How many more decades you reckon

a lot of the damage from alcohol is overstated to scare you because they don't like you drinking for other reasons (the funny things people get up to while drunk, mostly)
it really is the consistency that kills you. people who drink 2 glasses of wine with dinner daily for decades are actually worse off than people who binge hard but intermittently.
the one IQ study i can remember found that people who have ended up in hospital due to their alcoholism have an IQ... two entire points lower than the average of somebody their age.
as long as you stop now you'll be fine. it's better anyway when you can have like 2 beers and feel really great without the nausea and reflux and bloating.

you're pretty similar to me last year
29, slim but not in great shape because I don't exercise outside of moving around at work. I was drinking 5/6 pints of strong beer a night midweek, and then 10 plus spirits a night over the weekend
Did dry jan this year to try and make a change. Other than feeling vaguely "better" I didn't notice much of a difference
I didn't have the days long hangover though. Maybe drink more spirit mixers to help with that? beer gives the worst hangovers in my experience

At that rate 2 it will just destroy your liver and kidneys over time. But saying that if your decently active and know when to stop then you should be fine.

My manager only drinks in a pub but he runs them for a living so is basically an alkie. My grandma on the other hand will go through a bottle of scotch or gin in a week and 2 boxes of red wine. neither of them have anything seriously wrong with them and alcohol doesn't seem to have really done much to either of them.

Maybe you are somewhat immune but either way id cut it down a bit before you find out

Thanks for the advice bros. Better than the stuff on /adv/ by far lol

>>211500327
that study sounds insane. how can 2 glasses of red wine with food be worse than active body destruction? I've intention to stop, just trying to gauge how long I can get away with it before it causes 'withdrawal will kill you' levels
>>211500434
clear liquor can help with the calorie intake, but mixers are all sugar (I know beer turns into sugar too but that's different than drinking sprite)
I moved away from spirits before I caught a taste for it thinking the stronger it is the worse off my organs will be
Most I can stomaches is a single rum or vodka drink before I switch to something lighter
>>211500471
I could be more active. Used to work in bars too and I was a lot worse than. I suppose I could start by having one so dry day/week and seeing if eventually i can upgrade to two.

When I cold turkey after a 5-6 day long bender of getting blackout drunk I get such vivid nightmares I wake up screaming multiple times a night (if I even get some sleep). One fucked me up bad and made me question if I'm really awake for days. It was months ago and I still remember it and often think about it.

withdrawal gets worse over time. it takes a lot to go through it the first time but once you do you'll have symptoms much faster the second time (kindling). if you can go a week without it and not notice you're fine. when it happens you'll feel fine for a day or two then suddenly on the afternoon of day 3 you'll feel like you're trapped in a cage with lions and think the fridge is sending you radio messages while being exhausted (and dripping with sweat) to the point you want to kill yourself just to get some reset but totally unable to sleep for more than 20 minutes at a time. the good news is it only lasts like 4 days

I quit after being prescribed them after a surgery with a long heal time, and it was like having my soul dragged through gravel for a week. Only a week though. The good wasn't nearly good enough to be worth the bad. I don't understand how you could get addicted to something like that.
