If I had to go back in time and live in the middle ages, assuming I don't die from disease immediately and can reasonably communicate, I could probably cope just fine with everything else except the food.
Imagine gruel and porridge being 95% of your diet with the occasional bit of meat around a high holiday, luke warm bear you had to chew and probably tasted like skunky ass (i bet the wine was pretty good though).

I don't know, I'm a decent cook, both my parents were good cooks. My dad put himself through school while being a line cook in a place with a michelin star, and my mom was the oldest girl of 10 siblings, so she could always manage to clean out a fridge and repurpose leftovers.
I spent time as a short order cook. I enjoy watching food programs sometimes because surviving a busy dinner rush is an experience like few others.

I went on a huge trip across the US mostly seeing national parks and different cities and my older sister said "wow I'd love to do that, try all the different foods" and I kinda just scuffed the mentality because as much as I'll enjoy eating food its so far in the back of my mind as something I need to be looking for, though ironically I made sure to try most fast food places that were new. Ultimately the only food thing I feel like I missed out on is I could've had more BBQ in the south
