My idea for an American road trip movie:
Recent high school grad wants to explore country. Drives from Philadelphia to LA. Sees what each small town has to offer. Every town is a Walmart filled with same meth-addicts as last town. Gets gas at giant gas stations that serve dry bbq. Meth addicts in rare moments of sobriety make pilgrimage to worship beaver. It’s the greatest thing they know, the pinnacle of their culture. They buy more meth at the dumpster. Protagonist makes it to LA. A slight relief in the daytime, enjoys street tacos. Is car jacked and beaten by cartel affiliates at night. Defeated, hitchhikes back to Philadelphia with truckers. One teaches
