Something For the Dads edition
Even the BBC itself is taking the piss out of the state of Doctor Who.

>>211502089They'll still renew it thoughbeit.
>>211502399Not officially, but it's on an indefinite hiatus (and that's a good thing)
>>211502667Doctor Who peaked with Eccleston.
>>211502667Doctor Who peaked here.
>>211503711>shortest serving Doctor>takes the weight of a cancelled show on his back>builds it back up to a viable brand again>refuses to elaborate>leavesWe never knew what we lost with Chad Eccleston.
>>211501984 (OP)Too bad about the accent though.
>>211504328That's not even her real voice.
Eleven was my Doctor. Watching his period of the show at a formative time in my life changed me. It made me believe that I, as a nerdy skinny autistic kid, could be a hero. Here was this eccentric person, irreverent and empathetic and out of step with social norms, but he was loved by his friends and capable of affecting great change. Matt Smith was the man who taught me not to fade into the background and I will always be grateful to him for that.
>>211501984 (OP)What does "andies" refer to?
>>211502667>spent his life moping around going into fetal position whenever someone called him "Doctor">more geriatric than firstyI would be ashamed of that part of my life too, desu.
>>211504372Well, modern Doctor Who says that if you're not gay enough then you're not good enough, sorry
>>211504372 I love Matt Smith for this exact reason. His Doctor contributed to my own personality as cringe as it sounds. I don't know what kid would want to be like that Zesty Nigga thoughbeit.
>>211502089You can tell they didn't actually watch any of the new series because the guy doing the voice has got Gatwa muddled up with Cummings doing his Mr Ring-a-ding voice.
>>211502667i thought this was going to be Doctor Nasty
>>211505265No, they definitely watched it because they called out Kate calling everyone the Doctor's children.
>According to the source the Series 2 finale was set to introduce a new Time Lord villain known only as The Villain before major disruption behind the scenes including the collapse of the Disney deal, forced last minute rewrites. A former Academy classmate of the Doctor, Master, and Rani. Supposedly a shy, kind hearted student, The Villain was bullied relentlessly. The Doctor was his only friend, until the young Master manipulated him into turning away. Rejected and obsessed, and trying to be like the Doctor, The Villain spent centuries following the Doctor across time and space, trying to prove he was just as good as him, or a better nemesis than the Master. Early drafts suggested major changes to the Time War arc, where it would be revealed that the entire Time War was started by The Villain in order to get the Doctor's attention.
The character was intended as a metaphor for homophobia and internalised rejection. He was flamboyant, unstable, and terrifying. Louie Spence was reportedly in talks to play the role. One concept had him having a Meep as a pet, similar to Blofeld and the iconic White Cat. Another concept was forcing UNIT to dance to "Tragedy" in order to survive.
But when it became clear that Ncuti Gatwa would exit after Series 2, the long arc was scrapped. The Mrs Flood storyline, originally connected to The Boss mentioned throughout was heavily rewritten. In the rush to give Ncuti a suitable exit, The Rani (previously planned for Series 3) was brought forward as a last-minute replacement, reportedly at Gatwaโs own request.
>>211502089The sketch isn't funny. But the people outraged at a straight white man pretending to be a gay black man are.
>>211506162Of course it isn't, but the fact that it's a show on the BBC itself roasting RTD's shitfest is what makes it good.
>>211506414normies are like 5 years behind the zeitgeist so this getting produced was really white pilling, you'd have never see them do a sketch like this about Jodie during her era
>Mogs Pertwee, Davison and Colin Baker in multi-Doctor episodes
How did he do it?
>>211506059That sounds cringe and the Villain sounds like he wouldn't add anything.
>>211506414That's like taking the Extras parody seriously.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J63HrYEFAbI
>>211506540To be fair, this was just taking the piss out of the cheap monsters, which is a well-known long-standing point of mockery. The Dead Ringers sketch was literally saying "it's poorly written shit", which is a lot worse
>>211506503>Has most of his stories wipedThanks BBC!
>>211506705Marco Polo has just been rediscovered so shut yer face.
>>211506705Ian Levine has just restored all of them with AI.
>>211506779I'd rather have the animated versions.
>>211506779I have seen Ian's AI stuff and it's awful.
>>211506540even for a short sketch Tennant is giving it his all.
Rewatched Jodie's first episode. It's shit
>>211506059>the VillainBit cringe.
We know what started the Time War. It was Genesis of the Daleks. We saw it.
>>211506482>Normies are just now entering their "redpill" phase, like I did in 2012(?)You know I'm happy for them, but I can't help but cringe a little bit. They're going to be Pepe-posting next...
>>211505265I don't know if Jon Culshaw can do impressions of any of the Doctors apart from 4, definitely not 10
https://youtu.be/35uYgSYXtfA
>>211506540Ricky Gervais kind of gets Doctor Who better than RTD does, if I'm honest.
>>211506540I want lady sailor companion for real.
>>211507497We pretty much see throughout the original series that every time the Doctor interacts with the Daleks he contributes a little bit to building their empire.
He teaches them that there are worlds beyond theirs to conquer, he inspires them to create time travel, he bombs the fuck out of Skaro which surely pissed them the hell off.
We know how the time war started.
>>211507527I say this unironically: the ONLY NewWho writer who gets what Doctor Who is supposed to be like is Gareth Roberts.
He even said Matt Smith is the best Doctor, and I agree with it.
It's a shame he got cancelled over the transgender comments. He would've been a pretty good showrunner.
>>211507649RTD would absolutely retcon it with a mad timelord character who became evil because he was pushed away by the master (toxic masculinity) for being gay. RTD created the time war anyway. so he could do what he wants
Could The Chase retroactively be part of the Time War?
>Daleks using time travel
>Daleks using stolen Time Lord tech
>Daleks specifically going after The Doctor
>Trying to erase The Doctor from history by taking out his earliest incarnation
>>211507728>the transgender comments. What did he say?
>>211507471His Brigadier is okay.
>>211507908Called me a tranny :(
>>211507908On 3 September 2017, Roberts posted on his Twitter account,
"I [love] how trannies choose names like Munroe, Paris and Chelsea. It's never Julie or Bev is it?" Later that same day he wrote "It's almost like a clueless gayboy's idea of a glamorous lady. But of course it's definitely not that."
>>211507880It actually makes sense that those Daleks are from a much later time. I don't think we see them actively using time travel again in any of the later stories. If it was near the end of the war, it would also explain why they didn't keep sending Daleks to wipe him out at different points in his life.
Maybe that's too much theory crafting, and you should just take the episodes as they were made though.
>>211508182This bit you're doing is a little bit funny, but not *very* funny. I will say.
>>211506059Sounds cringe and silly. This show is at its best when it's just The Twilight Zone in space and each episode is self-contained.
> Doctor and companion goes to *place*> Strange/creepy things are happening > Have to solve the thing I am so SICK of muh Gallifrey and muh Time War I DON'T CARE. Both of these things were at their best when they were just briefly alluded to, like when the Doctor describes Gallifrey to Martha in Gridlock(?). What is this obsession with the Doctor's past? I don't want to see more member berries, I don't give a fuck about the return of """""""iconic""""""" villains like floogle boogles or the ooga boogas that were in one episode 90 years ago I DONT CARE STOP DWELLING IN THE PAST ITS BORING.
>>211507471>a show doing a Doctor Who parody but the main bit is that the guy playing the Doctor can't do impressions of any of them and keeps changing which Doctor he's parodying
>>211508257Yeah, kind of.
And I'm a sucker for the Gallifrey fanwank in the Wilderness years and stuff, but at this point, stop it.
I don't want to know more about the Doctor's backstory. They have already done quite enough damage.
I don't want to know that Susan's mother was flipping the Master or something. Stop.
>>211508168What's wrong with his comment? Just pointing out names people use.
>>211508184>I don't think we see them actively using time travel again in any of the later storiesThe Dalek's Master Plan, Evil of the Daleks, Day of the Daleks, Resurrection of the Daleks and Remembrance of the Daleks all have them using time travel.
>>211506844He's apparently started redoing them
>>211508220I found it very funny at first and keep finding it hilarious like the first time. Incredulity increases humour.
>>211502667Heaven Sent, the best Doctor episode that STILL had a retarded amount of Clara in it
Seriously, fuck Clara
Talk about outstaying your welcome
>>211505496Which they could have just gotten from an Indian YouTube video. Where do you think that the people who troll on the internet but don't watch the show get their info or strawmen? Everything is a repost of a repost.
>>211508500Correct. HS is overrated dogshit in the pigslop of Series 9. PigSHIT frankly.
>>211508322I think his Baker is pretty good

>>211501984 (OP)Imagine Vestra and Jenny carrying out an extremely thorough sexual examination of Clara and Amy.
>>211508404Oh well. Guess you're a bigger NERD than I am.
>>211506059>He was flamboyant, unstable, and terrifying. Louie Spence was reportedly in talks to play the role. That is fucking hilarious
>>211508580Evil of the Daleks, I always thought they'd just been sent back or trapped in time, like in Daleks in Manhattan. Day of the Daleks, they're just linked between two specific times like the Master in The Sound of Drums. Remembrance I don't remember using time travel, or Master Plan really. Resurrection maybe with the time trap corridor thing if that counts.
>>211508580No, I've just watched the show.
>>211508638>Remembrance I don't remember using time travelHow do you think they got to 1963?
>>211508703They were already there? Technically travelling from Skaro to Earth and arriving while humans are around at all like this must require or be a kind of time travel.
>>211508659I saw em like 12 years ago, chap. Give me a chance.
>>211508736Chap with wings? There, there.
>>211508703I mean, we don't actually know when Skaro is circa Genesis of the Daleks. That could have been the first century, from our perspective.
>>211508810Destiny and Resurrection show future humans with a post-Genesis Davros.
>>211508638Nigger you what? Victoria's dad and the other guy made a time travel machine in a cabinet full of mirrors and static electricity. Daleks came though with another time travel machine, then used the cabinet to teleport to 60's earth and bring through their machine. Based dizzy daleks proceeded to blow up the dalek commander. Also, on that version of Skaro, we don't see any of the native humanoids.
Now that I think about it, did they ever explain HOW the daleks retook Skaro after being utterly BTFO'd by first & co?
>>211508894How far post Genesis? Wasn't he "dead" for hundreds of years?
>>211507880i wouldn't agree, it was just targeting the Doctor for revenge as part of a personal feud, the action wasn't really set against Gallifrey or the Time Lords at all.
>>211508988The point is, Davros in Remembrance is clearly after Resurrection and Revelation. Therefore, the Daleks used time travel in that story.
>>211508810It's the 16th century according to Tardis Wiki
>>211509008Obviously not because those concepts didn't exist at the time (The Doctor is written as a human in The Chase). But like Genesis of the Daleks and Resurrection of the Daleks, you can retroactively fit it into the Time War if you squint.
>>211509096> The Doctor is written as a human in The ChaseSource?
>>211508409probably using the new google video thing everyone's using for these fake tiktoks, right? the quality on it is actually really good, i think it would be fine for these old episodes.

>>211502667Doctor Who died here, fucking Pandoras Box
>>211507359Fuck off RTD, the daleks were never a threat to the time Lords in classic
>>211509347Doesn't mean he isn't still a Time Lord. Unused dialogue too.
>>211509677They were getting there.
Althought, to be honest, I don't really buy how they were ever a threat to the Time Lords. You're telling me when their backs were against the war, the Time Lords couldn't just erase the Daleks in a snap?
The time war as a concept is kind of really dumb. Should have been a Time Lord civil war which expanded to incorporate other races, if anything.
>>211510376you just kind of have to accept it's purely because they're the most popular monster from the show. although i guess in a pretentious way you could look at it like nuclear arms, how initially only a select few had them but now most first world nations have their own arsenal.
>>211507527That sketch was parodying RTD though.
>>211510376Although I guess Gallifrey as we see it depicted throughout the original series is going through obvious cultural decline.
They were basically a people with the potential to wield great power, but completely incompetent leadership. Somehow Sontarans managed to invade Gallifrey at one point.
>>211510917If anything, Peter Davison, which I'm guessing Ricky half remembered from childhood.
You've got the woman in a uniform like Tegan, and the "sodium chloride" bit, which I think was an Adric quote.
>>211511150Four to Doomsday but I highly doubt Gervais was really thinking of that specifically; probably Merchant moreso.

>>211511601Missed the last asterisk. Should've used magic potion!
>>211511571The point is that it was obviously nu-Who, even that kind of scene with DT clutching his ears was done a couple of times in the show, just not by something like a silly slug monster.
>>211511651Partners in Crime, which was afterwards. When else? The Runaway Bride, but he's the only one not doing it. A bit in The Age of Steel but again he's not doing it. Evolution of the Daleks but he's not doing it.

>>211509962>Unused dialogue tooMy point was that was how Nation wrote The Doctor in the early days - as a human who built the TARDIS. This is why Doctor Who is human in the Dalek films. In fact, he wasn't the only one as most pieces of extra media portrayed him as a human.

>>211504372The thing that endears me most to Smith is the fact he went into the role knowing nothing about Doctor Who and the moment he started doing research he became a fan who read all the obscure texts and wrote his own rehearsal scripts to get better in-character. He cared.
>>211506059A huge opportunity was missed not making the Toymaker an alternate rival to the Doctor, who contrasts with him by being a higher-level entity who represents what would had happen to the Time Lords if they shed their corporeal forms the way Rassilon was trying to and the way the Q in Star Trek did.
He could solve all the Doctor's problems forever or cause him never-ending problems, but is invested in the paradox of someone having all the tools to get to his level yet refusing to, even as it means suffering from hardship and severely reduced agency, in a being who purports to treasure their freedom and the freedom of all other sentient.
HYPOTHETICAL:

>>211531282I have always suspected its a lie when an actor chosen to play the Doctor comes out and says he
>"No, honestly, I hadn't even heard of it before they offered me the role. Who is this ... Doctor...?"I can imagine perhaps Christopher Eccleston, might have only been vaguely aware about Doctor Who when he was cast, but he'd have known of Tom Baker's scarf, the TARDIS, and Daleks at the very least. For Smith, who grew up during the RTD era when it was a huge pop culture thing that everyome watched, to then claim not to have seen an episode? No, thats obviously bull shit, he was just trying to sound all cool, just in case he had to distance himself from the role if it didn't work out.
Jodie claiming not to have seen it is obviously a lie too. You don't work with David Tennant and Chris Chibnall on a show where its probably the only thing the two of them are talking about and the only thing people are asking the two of them about without thinking "I might check out this Doctor Who thing for free on BBC iPlayer...." Just to find out what the big deal is.
At least Tennant and Capaldi were honest that they had seen and somewhat liked the show.
>>211532382>I can imagine perhaps Christopher Eccleston, might have only been vaguely aware about Doctor Who when he was casti'm so used to actors waffling on about xyz being 'iconic' or whatever, but this interview seems pretty candid:

>>211531729I would rather just let it die.
remember when Dr Who would teach his assistants how to operate the TARDIS?
>>211532382>who grew up during the RTD eraHe would have been 22 or 23 by the time the show came back in 2005, he was definitely at a reasonable enough age to have not invested his time into Doctor Who when it came back.
>>211506540Why is it that when they parody the Doctor in something and they even get David Tennant in to play or voice him, they just cheap out and get a random to be the assistant?
In this and Family Guy.
Seriously every single one of the actresses that played one of David Tennant's assistants would be cheaper than him, and each one of them desperate for work on shows like that to raise their profile more.
>>211532482I would watch a show with the Paternoster Gang, at this point they're so much better than the main show.
>>211532537Scheduling would be a concern, and you honestly don't need a real companion, just the Doctor.

>>211532638glad the human one is ageing well, give them a series before it's too late.
Is there any reason why the Toymaker never got brought back in Classic? No story ideas? Not seen as interesting/popular enough? I think about Arc of Infinity and bringing back Omega (not even in a anniversary special again for what that is worth) and that seems to counter arguments that could be levelled against Toymaker not being brought back. Returning for the first time a powerful villain that has not been seen for years (10 years between Three Doctors and Arc) that a lot of the audience is either not going to remember or have watched. Plus, in Arc, not that this necessarily means much given multiple performers have played different roles in Doctor Who, Arc also has Michael Gough in it - though that is me presuming they would have got him again to play Toymaker.
>>211532638Big assumption for you to make that any show with them will not just end up resembling the main show in terms of quality.
>>211532677The only one of them that went on to be anything like "in demand" was Catherine Tate, and she was big before she joined the show.
I can just imagine them sitting by their phones ready for the call after Tennant told them he was going to be on extras, waiting for a call that never came. Much like how Jenna is feeling now after those numpties on Unleashed somehow completely forgot the second longest serving companion in NuWho even existed.

>>211524522you could take it as an allegory for politics, feminism gets thrown under the bus for LGBT+.
>>211532382It is not like Smith was saying he was not aware of the show. As you say, in what I think non-Americans or people too young may not realise, Doctor Who was massive in the RTD1 era in the UK. With Smith he was born in 1982, so as a young kid would have been around in the era the show was collapsing in popularity and come the revival was not really in anyway part of the audience, however broad it was, to be swooped up in actually watching the show.
How did /who/ react to the spinoff announcement?
>>211532786He was a one trick pony before RTD brought him back and expanded the character. Also, as his episodes were burned like Stookie Bill or taped over with episodes of Steptoe and Son there wasn't really the reference material there for people to go back to, either writers or viewers.
>>211532786It's most likely they forgot he existed. He only appeared once 18 year ago and his serial is mostly lost. The Three Doctors was mostly like reran by the BBC a few times especially that year since it was the 20th anniversary.

>>211533498Yeah true there were the Ice Warriors
I don't think they really took hold though
>>211532993I think it's interesting. Might stick on the first episode to see what pre school Doctor Who is like with all of the edge sanded off. It'll be harmless so there's no point in getting annoyed about a show for tots, though it's a shame that it's not something for CBBC in the vein of SJA.
All you have to do is film the EDAs and everyone will be happy
You can even recast the Eighth Doctor as Timothy Chalemet and no one will mind
>>211533443Seems like there should have been a Great Intelligence serial in the Third Doctor era. Although from what I remember that is something to do with the creators owning the rights not the BBC and there being a dispute of it.
What exactly is the spin-off they are doing?
>>211534712What if they did the Eighth Doctor stories with the 16th Doctor? You get all of the good stories from the EDAs but it's done with someone who isn't McGann.
Would you accept that?
>>211524522RTD doesn't care about women or minorities.
>>211534686>though it's a shame that it's not something for CBBC in the vein of SJA.What sort of show like SJA is even feasible? I do not see what companions are popular enough and have the person who portrayed them inclined to play the role again in some CBBC spin-off. Anything else seems like it just becomes some sort of UNIT show, that probably aims for a broader audience.
>>211532638Unfortunately Moffat thought people would be more interested in angsty teenage slop with characters no one saw before
>>211534756They're looking to commission a 52 episode season of a cbeebies spin off that'll air between 2027 and 2029. Cbeebies is the BBC channel for small children so the pitch document is stating that villains need to be more bumbling and mischievous rather than wanting to kill everyone, and the Doctor shouldn't be going Timelord Victorious on villains. It'll just be 11 minute stories. Here's the pitch document.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/commissioning/news/doctor-who-preschool-animation-invitation-to-pitch-june-2025
>>211531729>in this situation, how would you create your own legally distinct version of doctor who, that fits the tone, genre, and core concepts of doctor who without actually being doctor who?I think the biggest hurdle would be coming up with a legally distinct version of regeneration. But there are a lot of other shows we can pull from to make a new Doctor Who. Star Trek, The Twilight Zone, Sliders, Quantum Leap, X-Files, Lost in Space, The Time Tunnel, Flash Gordon, Sapphire & Steel, etc. etc. It really depends on your preferences and favorite aspects of the show. I'd try to add as many of my fetishes as possible.
>>211534967And it is gonna be... A-a-a-a-awesome!
>>211532382You can tell Jodie has never seen the show from her performance alone.
>>211534805I don't think you need a previous companion to necessarily head the show. If you had to have previous characters back, I would probably play on SJA nostalgia and bring Clyde and Rani back as the mentor for a couple of new kids.

>>211535624>Star Trek Pakleds but I can't think of them, maybe I meant the Ogrons.Maybe. Ogrons have low intelligence, with the main distinction between them and Pakleds is Ogrons are more used as mercenaries.
>>211509677They literally went out of their way to avert their creation which they never resorted to do for any other species (on screen).
>"We foresee a time where they have destroyed all other lifeforms and become the dominant creature in the universe"
>>211535793Now the Doctor in bi-generating will become that which the Daleks were trying to prevent.
>>211535793yeah but that's just because that's what the Daleks are, that IS the story of Genesis of the Daleks, sure.
there's an existential threat to all of existence every other week on Doctor Who. the Time Lords generally don't give a shit.
>>211535974>every other weekFour parters are most common.
>>211535974>there's an existential threat to all of existence every other week on Doctor Who. the Time Lords generally don't give a shit.So the fact that the Time Lords DO give a shit about the Daleks in Classic means that they're a major threat to the Time Lords.
Obviously this would get in the way of the story they wanted to tell but, the Time Lords just seem retarded to me. Why not just materialise a bomb in Davros' laboratory to assassinate him? It is not like the Kaleds are going to know it is the Time Lords.
Fact is, the Daleks are the epitome of power creep in Who. They become more and more powerful the more other species fuck with them. Their creation was essentially like Davros opening pandora's box.
I do agree however that the show does a poor job at expressing this as they keep writing them as dumbass jobbers, especially in the Pertwee era where they get blown up with sticks. Series 1 managed to make them cool again, even if it didn't last.
>>211536026but it's the exception, not the rule. and anon's original point was
>Fuck off RTD, the daleks were never a threat to the time Lords in classicwhich is true.
Time War should have been with some other threat, not the little bauble-mutants. and even in Classic, the Time Lords should have remained how they were in The War Games.
>>211536162Everyone knows it's only the original The Daleks, Genesis, Dalek and Parting of the Ways that keeps them a real threat. All other stories betray their power, their evil, their destiny and deny them their day.
>>211536162in NuWho they can melt bullets with magic force fields, yet dialogue also repeatedly explains it's possible to shoot the eyestalk.
they're already metal tanks!
>yo dawg, i put a shield around your shield
If you are to get into the autistic and mindfuckery logic of it, can you even stop the development of the Daleks? It is not like there is seemingly an exact 'present time' in the setting and at some point the Daleks do get time travel - from a meta-perspective the Daleks are shown to have time travel/manipulation in the First Doctor era, so from a production perspective predating Genesis. Given that the Daleks have time travel it seems like they should be able to retroactively ensure their development.
>>211536202>which is true. The Time Lords stating that Daleks could wipe out all life means that they were a threat in Classic to the time lords if left alone. And the Doctor made the decision to not kill the Daleks in their cradle, making the Tine War inevitable.
>>211536329No because going back to assist in their creation would result in a paradox destroying the universe.
>>211536372Does stopping the Doctor count as assisting if from the Doctor's and Time Lords perspective the Daleks should have developed? If the Daleks cannot interfere in stopping the Doctor from alerting Dalek development then by the same measure the Time Lords should not be able to stop the Daleks from interfering in the development of the Time Lords.
Since we're talking daleks, what was their best design?
>>211536457Bronze, although part of that may be the production quality of the prop. I think Nu should have transitioned away from the bronze colouring and tried presenting them with the same casing of the bronze though repainted in the silver with blue.
>>211536372That's probably a less harmful paradox than erasing the Daleks considering how much of history would change without them. Assuming the Daleks kept their involvement a secret.

>>211536457For me it is the Dalek Emperor in The Evil of the Daleks.
>>211536452Perhaps the Daleks have attempted to prevent or alter the development of the Time Lords, leading to the two races' dislike of each other. Dalek-Time Lord hybrid is banned in the MMO battle of the Time War.
>>211536600Looks a lot better than that of 1.13.
>>211536686Always wondered what those little arms were for
>>211536329If Fourth were to have prevented the development of the Daleks then does that mean First, Second and Third incarnations never encountered the Daleks? In that case is the Fourth Doctor incarnation, at least as he was in Genesis, even going to have come about? History seems like it must be rewritten by removing the Daleks - ranging from the personality of the Doctor, lives of his companions, individual planets, and intergalactic politics. Preventing the Daleks seems like it is some sort of grandfather paradox given how intertwined they are with the Doctor.
>>211536843Time Lords have paradox machines built to sustain this contradiction. Risky still hence the Doctor was keen to alter their development, making them a force for good, rather than simply stopping them living.
>>211536346if you're throwing later shit into the mix (the WRITERS didn't have time travel), wasn't Timothy Dalton's whole plan to wipe existence and then become beings of consciousness, somehow?
i guess he was insane, but it suggests they're not entirely wedded to this whole 'existing' thing.

>>211506503Doctor Who works pretty well as a sneaky manlet. I wonder if they'll ever do it again
>>211536913The writers wouldn't have been thinking of RTD's time war, but the threat that they laid out wasn't resolved and some kind of conflict would surely have to happen, which was then followed up on later on in Resurrection and Remembrance.
>i guess he was insane, but it suggests they're not entirely wedded to this whole 'existing' thing.I took that as desperation and being driven mad by the whole affair of the Time War. Before the War I doubt that they were thinking about trying to do that.
