I never was big on this movie. Mainly because I hate origin movies where everything is spoon fed to you. Add on Nolan stripping everything cool about Batman out for muh realism

I enjoyed Bale just reprising Patrick Bateman for his "Bruce as a careless rich guy" act.

Nolan movies sort of failed the character aesthetically but they understood what Batman is about.

>more time has passed between now and the premier of Batman Begins, than Batman Begins and Batman (1987)
That's honestly shocking. 2005 felt (and still feels) significantly different from 1987, whereas I don't perceive the same rate of change between now and 2005.

the refusal to explore the more supernatural side of Batman's mythology in favor of making every villain an IRA or Taliban stand in was a mistake.
There's supposed to be a gothic meets art deco look to Gotham that was absent from the films
Having Batman's company build all his gadgets instead of him being an inventor himself creates a massive plot hole of how does he keep all this shit secret, also makes Batman seem less competent. This goes away in the Dark Knight when he's designing his own gear
Batman's a guy who fights radioactive skeletons, giant sewer mutant dead guys, lizard men, millennia old ecoterrorists you get the idea.
Conceptually though they have the right idea by putting Bruce Wayne in the driver's seat over the retarded Bruce Timm "Bruce is the Mask" thing that's been popular since the 90s.
