People steal food all the time, so it’s not even a far fetched scenario. And no, people are not always sympathetic to the thief just because they stole food and not a TV. If you give the person that stole bread a pass, you’re inviting everyone to just steal food from you. And what if you’re a damn bakery, you’re just fucked then as a business? I’m not saying throw her in jail, but the shop owner is right to be upset.
It’s not pro-thief propaganda to show a fictional scene where police have remorse for a thief that’s stealing bread, because obviously not every thief is a down on their luck mom or whatever.
