It's boring and has 2000 different 2deep4u versions of it. The sequel is better.

atmosphere, production design, soundtrack, special effects.
the story is barebones but good enough. more like a pretext to explore that world, which is fine with me.

All of Dick's stuff is 50 years ahead of its time. In a few years when no one will be able to differentiate what's real and fake, this film and story will finally be understood.

That's fine
>if (You) rike it anon, why?
Because it shaped how cyberpunk flicks are made to this day and made Harrison Ford play something else than himself in costume

Slow burn detective story. Getting immersed in a weird, possible future, scifi world. Enjoying exploring it. Way more interesting that some bright, clean apple ipod future depicted in a non-stop breakneck action flick

so simply
>nice looking frames with divine soundtrack
is that it?
I always thought it was about some deep meaning or some shit
if it's that then I totally agree

>Because it shaped how cyberpunk flicks
did it? I agree that it captures the aesthetics of the novel well but cyberpunk overall is not just "high tech low life" gritty shit like it's usually protrayed (also Dredd, Demolition man), there are derivatives and subgenres

It's a lot of things to a lot of people, Anon. It's a very highly acclaimed movie. Have you been sleeping under a rock? Even the sequel garnered mass praise.

i guess it pontificates on the nature of humanity and sentience, but that's always been pretty standard fare for sci fi. blade runner is a visual feast and should be enjoyed as such. for example, the shot of the cop car flying in to confront deckard as he's sitting in his own car still holds up to this day and even looks better than a lot of modern movies. the world building is also top notch, blade runner's LA feels extremely "lived-in" compared to many sci fi settings.

It can have deep meaning. But sounds like you'd just take offense to anyone saying you should have gotten some message from it.
>Cyberpunk is a subgenre of science fiction characterized by a dystopian future where advanced technology exists alongside societal decay, often featuring powerful corporations controlling society and marginalized individuals who are often computer hackers or rebels.
Blade Runner perfectly characterized Cyberpunk

It's funny how they thought the world would be run by Japanese companies. In our world all those geisha billboards would be in Indian.
