Hank was an asshole, typical beer drinking hypocritical smoker troglodyte who saw Walter as a lesser man, numerous times he disrespected Walt in front of his family, but of course it was all a "Joke"

He realized Walt played him like a damn fiddle due to his ego being too big to see what was in front of his face.

Marie is a cunt too, the first thing they think about doing after finding out about Walter, is to go after a dead man in a crusade which will ruin their nephews' lives for ever just because of ego.

"How can it be that the beta cuck which we always laughed about and saw as a lesser being all this time was more capable than any of us"

Walt literally never laughed at Hank even once. He was clearly very afraid of Hank ever finding out.
>>211522061
So? People in law enforcement let their friends and family get away with things all the time. Plus Hank loved to show off how he shirked the law and protocols himself. Like when he let others handle his service weapon, including a disabled minor, or how he openly enjoyed illegally-imported cigars, or how he leaked crime scene photos even though this could obviously compromise his investigation (which it did). I don't understand why Hank of all people would be the angriest at Walt. If he was scared that Walt would get caught eventually, compromising his position, then it would have been a good time to discuss getting Walt to stop for everyone's sake. Instead he reacted like a hysterical retard, instantly trying to destroy Walt's family and convincing his wife to do the same.

because he was deeply betrayed and anger was the easiest way to react, and he had to focus on the job of arresting walt. if he had lived, then over the months and years after the fact he would have processed and gone through more complex reactions

dont think hank was ever shown to be that kind of cop, he was very serious about hating drugs (and drug users) and always wanted to immediately bust them. like when he got pissed at the el paso guys for being suckered by tortuga, he just wanted to immediately break through and bust the cartel
he had been maniacally obsessed and chasing heisenberg for years at that point even through his superiors and colleagues telling him he was crazy, so its not hard for me to believe hank was 1. pissed and 2. just as zealous about catching heisenberg even if it was walt

This scene was a scared bluff, not Walt making fun of Hank. He later bluffed Hank with more confidence when Hank handled his giant bag of money. Walt only had fear and respect for Hank, he deceived him like one deceives a formidable rival.

What the fuck are you guys on about? Walt nearly paralyzed Hank by driving into traffic, made him think his wife was in a horrible accident, actively sabotaged his investigation into Gus, and for all Hank knows Walt was behind his near-death experience with the twins.

He was humbled by what he thought were completely unrelated outside forces that had nothing to do with his family, as it turns out, it had everything to do with his family. There's a huge difference between someone fucking you over as an enemy and someone fucking you over as a friend. Extremely huge difference, there's a reason betrayers have a fastpass to the deepest depths of hell.

Genuine fear. Then there's the fact that he fucked a tard into his - equally insufferable - sister. Him being family adds the element of making Hank a potential suspect and co-conspirator. And if it is Walt, and even if things go smoothly, it will be an angle sullying his reputation and competence. Lastly, there may be a glimmer of conscience which resents knowing now, because Walt's fucked with cancer and that money is providing for his sister and nephew.

Trivial to arrange. Wife's too accustomed to the good life, spending a bit too much (fear of cuckholdry, midlife crisis, dick pills, sidewomen) ... Reptile (with Benicio del Toro) did it well. Make it anodyne corruption (filching evidence that will never be missed, taking possession of perps' stolen sidearms and such, some bullshit city ordinance to rake in easy parking tickets hand over fist).
