>>211539591he's sabotatged in a different way from Jodie. Jodie was told not to watch the show before she began her tenure, while Nucti did watch the show but RTD wouldn't let him play the actual Doctor. he's running around playing a character named the Doctor, but it's not our Doctor, it's some gay therapy man who cries constantly. i find it hard to judge the two of them objectively for that reason. what little bits of Jodie playing the Doctor were nice, but i would rank her mid-low tier. there's a few moments of Ncuti embodying the character in his own way that i enjoyed, he has the presence and charisma that Jodie lacked, the ability to walk into a room and control a situation and demand attention, you can see it from his brief intro in The Giggle. but once he's done having a few Doctorish moments he's empathetic gay therapy man, which is NOT the character of the Doctor.

Eleven was my Doctor. Watching his period of the show at a formative time in my life changed me. It made me believe that I, as a nerdy skinny green kid, could be a hero. Here was this eccentric person, irreverent and empathetic and out of step with social norms, but he was loved by his friends and capable of affecting great change. Matt Smith was the man who taught me not to fade into the background and I will always be grateful to him for that.

First few would obviously be very easy to include, we already have New Earth and also several episodes where reality was altered and memories changed (though, not in a very sexy way). > the character gets into some kind of accident with a machine or something they're not supposed to do that makes them end up like that Yeah, the most you can really get away with is IQ reduction. You can include parts of the whole but not everything at once, and at that point it's almost not worth it. I guess you could do it if you present as a "bad end" in an alternate reality like Lorraine in Back to the Future 2 but you still wouldn't be able to take it too far. It's better to just have a bimbo character or companion hanging around. Maybe The Doctor meets Chloe Khan.

As they leave Earth and are trying to figure out what planet it is, the Doctor is being snobby, trying to figure out why they went so far out in the first place. Jamie tells the Doctor that they should ask Victoria to help them as they've been in the past a long time and she's a history student. The Doctor dismisses her, saying it's only because of her clothes, to which Jamie snaps back "And what's wrong with his?"
So many other scenes. I can go on for days. It's an incredible arc and such a perfect introduction for Jamie.
Ohhhhhh Iโve definitely got Jamie wrong. I need to go back to the show. I assumed from a few of his later exits that he had a lot more control over the show, which is not the case.
Iโm going to re-watch both Pertwee and Tomโs seasons!

I shall present you the likely case scenario.
Billie Piper flies the Tardis back to earth looking for the Doctor. The truth is yes, of course she's actually Rose. Rose now teams up with 14th Doctor so Russel can have his cake and eat it too. The goal is to spend a few seasons figuring out where the real 16th.
Russell may or may not actually complete his desired Susan/The Boss arc with Tennant instead. We all know Tenny's not against coming back to help bail out the show.
16 then gets to be a fresh actor for what ever showrunner has to salvage this mess.
>>211593520I think they should do none of that.
Rose isn't even that good of a character, plus it was 20 years ago. Move on.
>>211593520A few """seasons""" with this fake Doctor? Then she might as well be the Doctor, she will be to the general public who know actors more than numbers.
>>211593576Truthfully I meant to put specials, but I subconsciously put seasons instead
>>211593520I have seen people speculate that that Rose Doctor and 14th Doctor are going to merge together to created the 16th Doctor. Which sounds retarded and not what I am saying will happen, but at this point it something I would not absolutely rule out.
>>211593603Because you are dumb. Also you misspelt "Russell".
>>21159343213th place is not that bad given how many there is there.
>>211593520Also I do think it is still an absolute possibility that we could get Rose for some amount of time (even if she is "not the same as she used to be"). As I said in another thread, my current theory is that she's been stuck in the void inbetween life and death since she left in S3, but her mind managed to stay coherent for all this time and she's now a disembodied spirit/consciousness. She will probably be the 13th doctor's companion at some point, but it might not be right away. But we still have a very good chance of getting some Rose in the next season. (Of course, this is just my theory so I could be totally wrong! :P)
Honestly, I still say at this point that the show is fucked. As in, we could see an actual decline in viewership from this point on. Aging actors will come and go. If we see the 13th Doctor again, it will be for one or two seasons.
You could always make your own version of Doctor Who with your own Doctor and keep it going as long as you like! :P
In all seriousness, I've been a Whovian since the mid-90s, and this hasn't been the first time the show has felt pretty dead in the water. It's never been so dark as to just be totally cancelled, but there have been some scary times for Whovians where it looked like the show was really struggling to stay afloat, and fans (myself included) were starting to think maybe it was time to let it go to its rest. I remember back in the Twin Dilemma days, we were sure the show would get cancelled. And even before then, during that disastrous 25th season, we thought we had reached the point of no return for the show. But after taking a sabbatical, it came back, and a huge amount of work was put in to bring back the show we know and love today.
The show's done pretty good for itself over the years, and if there is no reason for it to go back into hiding, I see no reason why it can't keep coming back for more.
Of course, all this is just my opinion.
>>211593520It was a last minute decision
Show is dead
None of this will happen because there is no show anymore and if it's ever revived they'll retcon Piper immediately
>>211593618>and now they get to be together forever!!! OooOoOOoouUUhhhh!Do people know Rose and David Tennant traveled together for exactly one season, and the "romance" was a suggestion at best?
Do they know that she was just some 20 year old girl, in a long line of women the Doctor has known in his life?
Don't appease rapidly aging Tumblr Fujoshis like this. It's beyond cringe.

>>211593520Billie Piper is playing a hybrid of the Doctor and the heart of the Tardis (who will still officially be considered the 16th Doctor). The two merged because the greatest threat the omniverse has ever faced is coming (it's a big CGI monster). Over the course of Christmas 26, Easter 27 and Christmas 27, she'll realise this threat is too big for any one Doctor. Hell, it's too big for any 16 Doctors. She must use her Tardis powers to summon one hundred Doctors. Many of these will be played by big name celebrity guests like Helena Bonham Carter.
>>211594333Cannot freakin wait.
>>211587903sure, it happened after Capaldi's regeneration, the character of the Doctor's been absent from the show since.

>>211594403Favourite Doc?
>>211594333Man, wouldn't it be great if the Doctor was just a cantankerous old (really middle aged) man, dealing with creepy goings-on on street corners again?
>look kids, it's Dr Who and the Nasty of the Swamp!Wouldn't that just be so refreshing?
>uh, actually no, because he has to absorb the retrogenitor particules, and then degenerate into himself, before he regenerates into his wife. Now this part, this part's the clever part. He regenerates into his wife, but they can't have kids because he's gay, so they adapt baby, but the baby is a personification of the universe. It's very clever. And they they have to travel forwards and backwards in time, sideways, and take a trip through the demiverse, where there are hundreds of versions of the Doctors, played by people of every race and sexuality, and also David Tennant and Bonnie Langford. They take a trip through the demiverse, and The 12.5th Doctor who is also the Valeyard but not really, regenerates into Omega, who regenerates into Rassilon, who Regenerates into the Master. Following? Anyway there's a big fourth wall break, and everyone knows they're inside a TV show, and then the Doctor outs all of the closeted homosexuals in the audience to their parents. So then we go back to Gallifrey, and we find out Susan is the Doctor, and Rose is Susan's mother, but also the Doctor's mother, and then Susan does it with Rose. Got it?
>>211593832Nice headcanon, and even if that were the case, it wouldn't change how much I enjoy him. Gay people shouldn't be defined by their sexuality. If your entire personality and life is dictated and defined by how gay you are, you're fetishizing sexuality, are mentally ill, and give all the other 'normal' gays a bad name. I wouldn't have cared if 15 was gay, if RTD didn't fucking write him exactly as I just said gays shouldn't be written.
Will RTD redeem this doctor?
>>211594513Let me tell my story pal!
One ordinary evening, I tuned in to watch an episode of "Doctor Who" called "New Earth," featuring David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor. As I watched his charismatic performance, something inside me clicked.
Tennant's portrayal of the Doctor was magnetic. His wit, charm, and boundless curiosity drew me in. But it wasn't just admiration; it was a revelation. I realized that my feelings ran deeper, transcending mere appreciation for an actor. In that moment, I understood my true identityโI was gay.
David Tennant's Doctor had unwittingly helped me discover this profound truth about myself. It was a short episode, but it led me on a lifelong journey of self-acceptance and authenticity, all thanks to a Time Lord's adventures in a distant future.
As the episode unfolded, there was a scene that sealed the deal. The Doctor and Rose found themselves in a hospital ward, surrounded by humanoid cat-nurses. In an unexpected turn of events, the Doctor initiated an impromptu dance, twirling and spinning, unburdened by societal norms or inhibitions. It was a moment of pure joy and expression and a dance that spoke volumes about being true to oneself

There's something very inspired about the 7th Doctor and Ace pairing though. the fact that they're far more like an uncle and a niece than any of the others.
