What makes the prequel trilogy so “memeable”?

Lucas is an actual auteur even if he is a retard. His movies are authentic, even if they are bad. They are sovlful and full of character, a work of a man who actually wanted to convey something to his audience, creating a genuine connection.
Contrast that with the sequel trilogy. They are also bad, but there is nothing authentic about them. They are just mass-produced, empty, forgettable corporate slop created for no other purpose but to milk the franchise one more time.
