Because not everyone welcomes change. For one, the majority of Belters can't live on those worlds, they literally die like in season 4. Two, they don't want to live in gravity wells. It would make them Inners and most of season 5 was discussing that their descendants wouldn't be Belter anymore. For three, they have spent centuries being slaves and killed wantonly by Earth and Mars. The anger and desire for revenge was boiling over hard. That's why Marco was able to seize power and rally the Belters to strike at Earth. They saw an opportunity finally satisfy that revenge. They didn't want to destroy Earth, but to bring it low so that they would be the Belt's Slave and Marco could be king of Sol System while everyone else got the new worlds. Same sort of deal on Mars, people got really depressed, lashed out, turned criminal because the thing they'd known all their lives and worked so hard for was gone in an instant. The dream of terraforming Mars disappeared in an instant and most coulsn't accept that. It's like if a new planet opened up and half the population decided to leave America instantly. It's not really going to be that great for those that remain and change is difficult.

Series started off really good and grounded, started becoming marvel slop.

Read the whole thing and I'm glad I did. Fantastic scifi series better than anything in the last two decades.

It would be neat to live on the outer planets/moons. Living on Ganymede making crops and looking at Jupiter would be neat. The semi-grounded near future of the story is the most interesting part
