I get taking time to reflect because it truly is a big commitment, but it's being framed in a way that leads the audience to believe she's going to work at a different restaurant. I think Carm has given her plenty of opportunity to grow, but unless she's opening up her own restaurant as head chef then what she has at her current gig is pretty darn good.
