Chicago is a dump. LA seems like it sucks (never been) and there's a certain variety of New Yorker that is the most annoying person on the planet earth, but I would rather live in the boonies than live in Chicago. It seems like the only rust belt city that survived and is a real place but the way things are going, it might end up being the next St Louis.
