>Cinema Paradiso crossed with American Graffiti, with a splash of Dr. Strangelove in there for good measure
What an excellent film, I had no idea it existed or had ever even heard of it until I stumbled across it tonight.

Okay? What like in a store? Did you have it on your room wall even though you didn't put it there and fall asleep to smiling John Goodman every night?

They made an entire film/franchise about this subject and it was excellent.

you should watch every joe dante film, you will realise he's a genius who should have made 20x more films than he was allowed

also the short film within matinee is pure gold, it's only in snippets in the film, the full thing is on youtube

WTF, I guess he really is one of those unabashedly silly filmmakers like Jared Hess who made a bunch of movies I loved that fit a specific tone/ aesthetic and never realized were all directed by one guy until recently.

when I like a film a lot, I start looking into the credits to see who the secret sauce was, then I seek out the rest of their filmography
I have found many kinos this way

most people don't realise john milius' influence on hollywood through the 80s
