In school other kids would tell me I was like a serial killer (???) and then I won an award for wittiest student. It was a large school and I don't know anyone from there anymore.

That you don't react to social cues the same way as 'normal' people. Don't take it personally, it was just a light-hearted remark. Same thing happened to me; one of my friends told me I'm probably a psychopath because I'm overly honest (I told one of our friends that the reason why I didn't go to her birthday party is that I didn't feel like going).
