If there is any trend if capeslop is that these things are based on momentum. The slop factory for marvel has continued to produce worst results. DC can pretend that this is le new universe actually but the stench of the DCU (aka The Flash and Aquaman 2) will carryover and impact Superman which is why Gunn and all the actors are getting anxious and all these articles shilling it are coming out.

It's true of any cultural phenomenon. Entropy comes to everything in the end and unless you learn ride the wave, you're in for a world of pain. Hollywood is scrambling because the model of capeshit, fantasy IP slop and gen X nostalgia which sustained them in the 10s has run out of steam. There was a time when everyone at my work was talking about the latest Marvel release whereas I'd be mildly embarrassed to bring up a Superman film to anyone now.

What rises to replace it nobody knows. Vidya movies? Possibly nothing. The whole cultural industry is on its knees.
