I already decided to not give this movie money two replies ago. It's such a shame, 28 Days later is one of my all time favorite movies, I saw the original director and writer returning and got a spark of hope and excitement. well the intro is basically the scene from the trailer where the kids are watching Teletubbies. One of the kids there survives the attack on the house and rushes toward the church where he finds his father (the priest) kneeling and basically saying that judgement is coming and that they are about to be saved. The priest gives the kid his necklace with a cross on it and tells the kid to not be afraid. A few seconds later we see the infected are starting to break through the window and the kid proceeds to hide while the priest is still there kneeling at the altar. The priest gets eaten and turns to a zombie and the infected rushes out of the church to look for more victims outside. The kid then opens the hatch he hid from and escapes then it cuts to black and we fast forward 28 years later.

ATJ and his family is the focus of the movie now, He accompanies his kid during the initiation ritual. The soldier freaks the fuck out and wants to kill the baby but Jodie is trying to stop him. The pregnant infected regains consciousness and she tries to attack Jodie but the soldier shoots her. They then continue to argue about the baby and suddenly the soldier gets lifted up by the Alpha (who somehow got into the roof without making a sound) and basically lifts the soldier and rips his head off. Then he rushes toward jodie and the kid but ralph finnes (the doctor) steps in and saves them by blowing a sleep dart on the alpha. The alpha somehow digs below and grabs Ralph but before he could snap his head off Spike saves him by stabbing him with one of ralph's sleep darts. They escape the hatch they hid in and ralph tells the kid that it's time to go home and that they aren't safe here. The kid decides to trek his way back to the island during the night and he leaves the baby and a letter addressed to his father near the gate. The letter basically tells ATJ to stop looking for him and to instead take care of the baby that he and jodie found. Cut to the son again who's traveling on his own. He encounters a group of infected and when he was about to be overwhelmed a man wearing a cross saves him and recruits him to his cult. the end

basically some of them had their on ways to adapt. the fat fuck crawlers eat everything they find in the ground including worms, the alpha and his pack eat deers (there's a fuckton of them to the point they cause a building ATJ and his son were hiding in to collapse.)

Here's a few plot point

first half is about the boy first time in the england main land, Taylor is his father and his mother is sick, there are a few vision/oniric sequences but they ultimately mean nothing

second half is about the boy finding a doctor - Ralph Fiennes - for a cure for his mother. The soldiers are here but they are useless and so the entire soldier character. It's obvious that they cut a lot because the final confrontation between the boy and the alpha is very fast and quick. The bone temple was built by Ralph

ending is a wtf sequence where a character from the intro and his squad of dancing wig-wearing warriors save the kid who decided to go back to the mainland alone

I literally can't wait until this shit hits some streaming service and I can watch if for free on 123movies

The name of the film is 28 years later and in that time the island of survivors reverted to using arrows. The intro scene says the virus was pushed out of continental europe and britain is quarantined. So in 28 years there was no efforts to reclaim the island no large scale cleanses no beacheads no nothing... okay for the sake of the film i will slide it. in 28 years nobody comes to help the villagers of the island okay. keep in mind the rest of the world is from what i understand completely fine. we have a scene in which a group of soldiers is ambushed by relatively small group of infected, now excecpt for the leaders of the infected, in this one they didnt seem to be all that fast so this group instead of holding the perimeter shooting them up they die like whiny bitches. Fortunately for the film if was explained that they were swedes. Now the funny thing about alphas, in the year 2030 in Britain the alphas are tall indian gentleman with cocks that are thigh high. Genius world building Garland simply marvelous. And as far as the ending go it’s a complete level change with the rest of the movie It felt like a joke. Like most are saying the movie is pretty meh 6-7 range.
There's 2.1 movies inside it, first part (son+father) is solid and the core meal everyone expects. Second part (son+mother) has serious pacing issues and the tone shifts abruptly. The last scene (the 0.1) is some Ichi the Killer murderhobo shit that I enjoyed but given the tone of what just happened feels like another dramatic tonal shift.

I'm a brainlet that dropped the film after an hour, but details like that are why it was difficult to become invested into the film. Even in the world of film it's nigh impossible to imagine Texas and California becoming allies, maybe some parts of Cali willingly let themselves get absorbed by other states but anything else is a stretch. It's also difficult to get invested of the world because even though you're constantly moving from location to location and the story dripfeeds you updates via the car's radio, you really don't get enough of a feeling of how this war started, who all these factions are and what they want, nor do you see enough perspective of the regular citizens just trying to live day by day. The latter is probably the point because it focuses on a cast of reporters that distance themselves emotionally, but you don't know much about them and it's not like they're reporting anything on video either.
It honestly would have been better if Civil War was an exploitative B-movie through and through, because it would have been easier to ignore minor details and focus on the spectacle. Or if it were a trashy Netflix series where each episode focuses on a new location with new cast of characters to bounce off of and fill in more details about the world. But the movie takes itself way too seriously and that's to its detriment.

By the way it's absolutely comical how hard the trailer misrepresents the tone of certain shots. Remember the shot of the pile of skulls in the trailer and how the creepy poem is escalating to the guy screaming at the top of their lungs, you also see a spooky shot of a dimly lit figure standing amongst the bone structures? Is that the villain? It must be an intense horrifying moment when our heroes stumble across this bone structure right?

No. Ralph Fiennes, who is a quirky lovable goofball, he made the bone structure. He introduces the characters to it and this happy whimsical music is playing as if we all just got whisked off to the land of Oz. The dark figure standing amongst the bone structure at night, who looked foreboding and ominous in the trailer, it's just ATJ's wife standing there taking some morphine from Fiennes while happy upbeat triumphant music plays.

28 Weeks seemingly has been completely written out of the canon. Its premise simply doesn't work with the "lore" presented in the new movie. In Weeks, the infected were all dead (as we saw with the ending of 28 Days Later), which is why they had begun the process of civilian re-population. The militarized NATO presence was only as a precaution due to active decontamination efforts, there was explicitly no zombie action until the virus was *reintroduced* by a carrier. In Years, the original infected never fully died off, and they were able to adapt to eating wildlife (which otherwise began to thrive following the death of most of the humans, giving the zombies an ample food source). The UK has been continuously inhabited by zombies from the start of the original movie.

So either Weeks simply didn't happen, or all the footage/text/exposition about the infected having died off was just wrong, and the NATO forces were actually battling zombies just outside the city limits and off camera for the first half of the film.

So I don't know why the production team has been talking about Weeks as if it IS still canon. They wrote a sequel that doesn't work with its central premise.

That said, fuck it. Years was much better than Weeks, so I'm glad they just fucked it off.

But if we support it the next one has to be 28 decades later. Then 28 centuries later. Then 28 millennia later. I hope they make 10 of these.

They cut in a few seconds of sniper-cam footage from Weeks without any context (it's certainly nothing either of the characters would have been aware of), during a sequence where they're also cutting in footage from a wide variety of real and fictitious sources. Given that Weeks and Years fundamentally don't work together, I'd argue that it makes better sense to interpret these as random moments from the original outbreak.

That said, the production team clearly don't agree with this interpretation. So I'm still scratching my head as to how they think Weeks is supposed to work with Years.

How much Nudity is in the movie? I live in a country that basically either cuts out or zooms in in shots to censor any form of sexual acts or nudity.
