Why do modern audiences hate these movies so much?
They don’t but I recently rewatched them all and Return of the King is easily the ‘worst’
Why do you think anyone hates LoTR?
>>211656782I kinda agree, I can't put my finger on it but it just doesn't hit nearly as hard as the first two movies
>>211656817I don't hate it, but as a scifi guy, Tolkien's subtle anti-tech bias gets under my skin sometimes.

>>211656877For me, it's the ghost army deus ex machina at the Battle of Pelennor Fields, which took too much away from Gondor saving itself. But I kinda understand why they cut it.

>>211656706 (OP)Retard, do you have any proof? Another maggot op made thread on false premise
I'm 35. Never liked it when it was released and I rewatched it recently and it was too god damn boring.
It's just a matter of preferences. I don't like medieval/fantasy shows, games, etc. They're incredibly boring to me.
It's a plot driven story rather than what Chads like me like - character driven. No one gives a fuck about Frodo and his gay ass manlet friend.
I remember on my 2nd watch, a friend of mine was like "look, look at this easily my favorite scene" and it was just the epic sword guy fighting some of those shadowy monsters and scaring them with fire.
I also tried to read the book at it was boring
>>211656782>>211656877Return of the King is CGI action slop where all of Jackson's bad adaptational choices collide into a catastrophic pile-up where the entire 2nd half of the book gets crammed into one 25 minute ending montage that is both way too little to capture the essence of what Tolkien was trying to do with the second half of RotK and too much to serve as a satisfying denouement because it goes on forever
legolas surfing on the elephant and the ghost army are just interminable dogshit.
>>211656877The Battle of Helm's Deep and the Battle of Minas Tirith are too similar.
Minas Tirith is better than Helm's Deep, but it comes after after and feels kind of redundant.
>>211657425I saw this more as an anti war metaphor than anything, everything being torn down for trenches and bases and what it does to the world…. But I dunno don’t be mean pls..
you made this thread yesterday too where you make up shit about gen z. gen z loves LOTR just as much as everyone else. kys faggot.
>>211657906nah Helm's Deep is way better
>nighttime>rain>that slow build up with the Uruk's arriving and stomping in intimidation>the sad montage of kids/old men being drafted into war>elfbros showing up at the last moment to bring hope>Gimli being too short to see over the wall>ladder fighting>the guy Allah Akbaring the wall>Gimli diving into the fight without hesitation to protect Aragorn>Theoden fighting at the gate and getting stabbed during the melee>"Don't tell the elf">Gimli blowing the horn>"FORTH EORLINGAS" >Gandalf arriving exactly when he said he would with backup>the dawn's light blinding the Uruk's as Gandalf's battlecry echoes off the valley walls>"HE'S GOT MY AXE EMBEDDED IN HIS NERVOUS SYSTEM"
>>211657683My insane indoctrinated older sister literally said "White people are weird" when a few of us were sitting around and someone casually asked another person "Do you like LOTR". The person just said "Yes" of course. We had not been talking about politics or race or anything related to that. And we're all white as milk, and she and I have light blonde hair. Just crazy how crazy these liberals get with their anti-whiteness.
Nit-picky, but Legolas shenanigans keeps threatening my suspension of disbelief. I don't think in the book was such a chad, and I'm sure Gimli was far less comical.
>>211657425Nerds don't talk about regressive fantasy is as a genre, especially when compared to sci-fi. There isn't much value to fairytales.
