I don't even know if this movie is doing good or not

Saw it in 3D Imax. Absolutely exhilarating. The flying sequences were worth the price of admission. Don't care about 'DEI' and 'woke' controversies.
But I've never seen such massively obese characters. A fucking miracle those dragons were able to get airborne.

I do NOT understand the trend of live-action remakes of animated shows/films. Even with the biggest budgets from the biggest studios, it just looks like cosplay on green-screens. The animated versions are always superior. This is literally the sloppiest of slop, bottom of the barrel movieproduct, peak creative bankruptcy.

We'd already overdosed on comic-book adaptations but at LEAST they're adapting something from page to screen. This is just "adapting from screen to screen, but worse." The original is in English, it's not even that old, the animation doesn't look dated, and pretty much everyone in the target audience for the original film agreed it was a very good execution of its story. There is NO reason for this movie to exist. Anyone who supports this, or God forbid gets excited about it, is a soulless NPC in the most literal sense. There's legitimately something wrong with you if you eat this slop up, something is missing inside you

By what possible metric? The trailer's hitting the exact same beats as the original, almost shot for shot, just in shitty cosplay and shitty greenscreen and muddier and greyer. It's a children's film, the animated version was brighter and more engaging, nobody needs an "adult" version of this

We have a fundamental disagreement in taste - it legitimately does not matter if they execute the remake well or not, it CANNOT be good, because there is no artistic justification for its existence, it exists SOLELY to turn a profit in the laziest possible fashion. This shit offers nothing to the audience, it only takes from you, and you're a cuck if you give them your money for this shit
