He tried. He made a huge web between the buildings to try and catch the plane, but there simply was no way for him to know that the pilot was actually aiming for the building instead of trying to avoid it. Then, while he was reeling from what he'd just seen happen the second plane hit and nearly killed him as he was perched on the building it hit. It threw him off and he hit Building 7, causing structural damage and nearly killing him. That was enough to knock him out and stop him from saving people stuck in the top levels of the towers. Luckily he was dragged out by Steve Buscemi.

Oh. Right. I was thinking more that the armada showed up only within the confines of Central Park for some stupid capeshit reason, so all the heroes had to be within that square.

There's nothing ridiculous about it. 9/11 was one of the most harrowing moments in all of the world's history. People saw buildings crumble in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Anyone, no matter who you are, was in shock or in tears by seeing the events that transpired that day. I, for one, walked through the streets of ash. Blood and bone. I was looking for my brother. He was in Canada.

Since this is a Spider-Man thread, here's a more recent ridiculous alternate universe moment where all electronics are destroyed because of some magic shenanigans happening at the centre of the planet and somehow that also ruined his MECHANICAL web-shooters. But what's worse was that it didn't kill him or end up with MJ dying when he couldn't get to them, or anything like that. It was just an excuse to give him giant stupid steampunk webshooters in the next issue that takes place years later.

He's just crying because some Saudi fucks managed to do what he's wanted to do to the Baxter building for years and now he'll never be able to accomplish it without people calling him a copycat. DAMN YOU RICHARDS WHY DIDN'T YOU STOP THIS LIKE YOU'VE STOPPED ALL OF MY ATTEMPTS
