Because it's about a teenager and because civilization peaked in the 90s

What, are you the last person in Western civilization that doesn't realize Disney is a kiddie grooming syndicate?

This whole movie was 90s Disney trying to appeal to the teen market. One of the characters literally says "taking a break from the MTV generation"

>"Space Jam is a weak movie that people only think it's good because of 90s childhood nostalgia"
Completely wrong. A Goofy Movie fits that description better

Goofy is a dog just like Pete is a cat and Mickey is a mouse and Donald is a duck.
His full name is Goofy Goof and his son's name is Max Goof.

I'm a 90s kid but never saw this. Wish I could join in because it's constantly memed here. Can I appreciate it if I watch it for the first time now or have I missed the boat?

This is movie that certainly has merits in the artistic and musical departments, yet it's all wasted on a bad storyline (contrived, frustrating, rushed, idiotic)

I guess it's not perfect and not official golden age canon, it had a lower budget. But how can you say it's only good because nostalgia?

Music is legitimately good, in a movie that didn't have to add music
Great voice acting
Likable characters (most of these characters had little to no established personality before this movie)
Relatable situations and funny at the same time
Tugs on just about every emotional string in a satisfying way.

Don't know what else you want out of an animated kids movie

>Goofy and his amorous teenage son clash after the boy succeeds at school by imitating the hottest rock singer. Goofy tries to fix the situation by taking his son on a long trip across the United States

>This time, Disney has made a mistake: it has tried to modernize its style, resulting in a boring musical television film that aims to win over young audiences by making ridiculous concessions to a superficial and consumerist lifestyle. To keep things politically correct, the father-son conflict is poorly resolved in the end; but even then, the film doesn't achieve even the slightest significance

Well I miss the days that a low budget "tv movie" was memorable and entertaining, and tried new things well, instead of their current movies that get 300 million dollar budgets and are forgettable and generic.

>I sorta came by to talk about the party
>I’m really looking forward to it, Max
>Yeah, I was, too
>Was?
>Well, you see my dad’s on this stupid father/son kick, and...
>Oh, don’t worry about it, Max. It’s just a dumb party
>No, it’s not. Roxanne, I really wanted to go with you. I...
>No, Max, I understand. Really, it's okay, these things happen...
>My dad surprised me, I don’t even wanna go, but I have no choice
>I’m sure I can find someone else
>....Someone else?
>I’ll just talk to you later
What was her problem? Did she forget the epic stunt that he pulled at school a few hours ago just to impress her? Or that it was him who invited her to the party?

It's about teenagers, that group of people whose entire thought process revolves around sex. We used to know that back in the day before woke
