The problem is that budget creep begins to happen and now they are trying to franchise it. I think 300-400 million is a good range for box office now for a solid movie but far too many executives still want franchises to be hitting the old MCU billion level. Those people spending 200-400 million on a superhero film budget are retarded.
So yeah now we get the franchise shit. Ballerina cost $90 million for some reason and if it was $20 million it would have actually made some fucking money. The Continental show was a shitty prequel that was plainly awful.
My franchise idea would have been to make The Continental an anthology show where each episode had a different tale about an assassin staying at the hotel. That would have been creative and fun. But nah.
