Because Hollywood is so unoriginal that anything that is a big commercial or critical success will be imitated ad nauseum.

See: superhero cinematic universes, the Taken genre, slow burn horror, found footage films, etc

>Then it makes big money despite pocket change budget
Next thing, you gonna ask why Taken was so big prior to John Wick and why "making their Taken" entered Hollywood lexicon

unpretentious and, regardless of it teetering on comical in subsequent iterations, the choreograph being quality and performed by the talent has a tangible impact on the experience.

I fail to see how it is different from previous two.
If 4 is reddit than 2 and 3 are also.

It isn't, but I'm willing to be proven wrong.
Name five movies that were inspired by or influenced by John Wick.

its boomer bait mostly. an unoffensive storyline that builds up to mindless gunfights. its basically an 80s movie with an extra side order of poz

>John Wick (2014)
>Budget $20–30 million
>Box office $86 million

>John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017)
>Budget $40+ million
>Box office $174.3 million

>John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (2019)
>Budget $75 million
>Box office $327.7 million

>John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023)
>Budget $100 million
>Box office $447.3 million

Unlike many contemporary movies it was made with a low budget and made its money back and has been consistently growing. The problem is that budget creep begins to happen and now they are trying to franchise it. I think 300-400 million is a good range for box office now for a solid movie but far too many executives still want franchises to be hitting the old MCU billion level. Those people spending 200-400 million on a superhero film budget are retarded.

So yeah now we get the franchise shit. Ballerina cost $90 million for some reason and if it was $20 million it would have actually made some fucking money. The Continental show was a shitty prequel that was plainly awful.

My franchise idea would have been to make The Continental an anthology show where each episode had a different tale about an assassin staying at the hotel. That would have been creative and fun. But nah.
