I saw the trailer and it looked like a CGI heavy Borderlands take on MM. I love all four other movies but this one looked like current year garbage. I hope I'm wrong and it's worth seeing.

It's crazy how even all the vehicles were CG.
Fury Road had a bit sure, but the level in that trailer made it look like it was almost entirely sound stage shit.

It was the young adults fiction version of mad max, everything interesting about the old movies was gone and all that was left was a reduced spectacle of fury road. It wasn’t terrible just stupidly over budget and made for no one

Really liked this movie, bombed because people though le woke, cant do anything with a woman now a days, CGI was way more notorius than fury road, Love the stowaway part, by the way George Miller already planned the 3 stories a long time ago, that was the Wasteland(Max before fury road), Furiosa before fury road, and the big ending that is Fury Road

Too long after fury road, prequels are always kind of iffy anyways since if that part of the story was so important you probably should have started there.
I liked it, it wasn't perfect, and I prefer mad max movies just being disconnected post apocalyptic fables and I appreciate the complete contempt it has for "lore."

Also that kid that acts as Furiosa is Kino, the beggining is also good, the ending was kinda the weakest part, when they fucking rip her arm off was done really well

I liked how the max/curiosity dynamic worked. Sticking to the max formula of: trouble with powerful mofos/ run from powerful mofos/ turn around and go straight through mofos.
But it's not some dumb forced romance. He's a loner, she has rank and responsibility that she betrays.
Once they turn back, max proves his worth the only way he can, with his blood.
When he pops her pneumothorax and hooks her up to his vein he telks her his name. It's a busted veteran's vulnerable moment in a busted world, I thought it was great. Hardy does the traumatised thing with his eyes better than most.

Spinoffs used to happen because a particular character proved popular enough to deserve one. Now they happen because a character is particular sex or skin color.
Fury Road was already a backdoor pilot movie for Furiosa and even after watching it nobody cared about the character. I can forgive Miller for wanting to tell a story but the studio should have known better.
