After watching BCS and rewatching Breaking Bad, I can say that I don't like Breaking Bad ending at all. The final season showed that Walter was an irredeemable egomaniac. It was so dark and depressing. But then during the last episode Walt goes full superhero, saves the day, finds a way to provide his family with his blood money and destroys neonazis with a machine gun turret. I think Walter should have died alone, forgotten, knowing that his ego ruined the lives of everyone he knew. But instead we get a big celebration of his ego, where he fixes everything he can and shows everyone what an exceptional man he is! All of the pain and suffering he inflicted upon others was worth it and he dies satisfied, with a smile on his face.
A murderer, a terrorist, a druglord got his happy ending! Only in Hollywood!
This got to the point that the ending convinced lots of people that maybe Walter White wasn't that bad at all.
So yeah, the bittersweet ending of BCS where he accepts the punishment and spends the rest of his life, paying for the mistakes he made is infinitely better.
>>211718886 (OP)>A murderer, a terrorist, a druglord got his happy ending! Only in Hollywood! If only you knew how bad things really are
>>211718886 (OP)Nah, hard disagree. The ending of BrBa was (mostly) kino but the final season of BCS was trash.
>>211718886 (OP)whole 5 season was trash. starting with the ridiculous magnet thing. "I am the one who knocks" "say my name", turning walt into complete lunatic and dumb, yeah sure pal, he would definitely leave the book from drug maker in his bathroom, retconning the vacuum cleaner guy to be just stepdad for new hampshire hut instead of giving walt proper new identity etc.
>>211724304>starting with the ridiculous magnet thing. Its so jarring to binge watch Breaking Bad, in season 4 we see how far Jesse and Walts relationship has deteriorated and become irreparable, how you are left with a sense that they will never ever be friends or work together again and that the early season wacky shenanigans are over, only for season 5 to immediately jump back into wacky shenanigans and say whelp they back to working together.
BCS and BB do not have endings, El Camino in the canon ending of both. And it's beautiful.
>>211725090Donโt be a tard, Walt got him onside with the ricin lie. The entire premise from then in is how heโs loyal but if he finds out, itโs over. The opening scene of S5E2 lays all this out in excruciating, painstaking detail
>>211718886 (OP)>his egoThis is such a midwit interpretation but I can't blame you since even the people making the show fell for it. Walter was retarded and prideful, yes, but almost everyone around him was infinitely worse. It was especially bad with Mike's tantrum, the retard was projecting hard and pretty much just butthurt Walter didn't let them murder him. Some ego, huh?
You completely missed the point tho. He DID lose. He literally lost everything. His ego consume him. The point of him wiping out the nazis and still securing the money was to show that he actually was a genius which is a core theme through the whole show. From the very first few eps when he drugs the dealers holding him hostage, cooking the best meth in the country, taking out another genius like gus, evading the cops and so on. The point of his character was to show how the ego consumes a person, this does not mean they still are not capable of outplaying their enemies, but the price is everyone and everything they love. He won, but at what cost?
Also, I think the point of the show was to basically document what happens when a good man "breaks bad." Walters moment was when he was forced to wash his own students expensive car in the car wash. That is when he realized that he played it good his whole life, and that cretin who has no respect still gapped him. For guys like him the only choice he has is to break bad, and the ending was showing the consequences of those actions. I've seen it 1 or 2 times in my own life when good guys break bad, they usually end up getting what they want but at great personal cost
There is no gain without loss
Even getting into heaven requires you die first
>>211727299k whatever. then it goes in the same cringe collection as le two-face gus.
Walt is a more positive character in a way, despite his flaws and being evil and all ultimately he takes control of his own destiny and becomes his own man instead of being a browbeaten cuck. Jimmy is just a scammer who remains a scammer. Going to prison is the first positive character development he has.
Breaking Bad is overrated slop.
>>211730372I mean they literally said that with skylert's whole 'why are you breaking bad now' speech
>>211730914Wow thank you so much for contributing

>>211718886 (OP)It's not a bittersweet ending. Walter fucking won. The message of the show is conveyed perfectly.
Why live like a sheep marking your time waiting to die? When you can do whatever the fuck you want and go out with a bang? People tend to forget, how awful Walter's life was prior to the events of breaking bad.
"I am not what *happened* to me, I am what I choose to become." - Jung
>>211732021>Walter fucking won.did your mind shut off when you were watching Ozymandias?
>>211732058And whose fault is that? Everyone was happy with Walt when he was a pushover. The moment he started taking control, shit starts to go south. Walt was gonna die in few months, and Hank really did destroyed his family all for nothing. Hank was also an egomaniac.
How was Walt responsible for Hank's death? It was Hank's decision to use Jesse to lure Walt. Gomez tried to warn him but he didn't listen.
>>211732194It's your fault, you stupid cat. Give me that look again bitch.
>>211718886 (OP)>Wife's life is ruined and has a broken relationship with her sister because of her getting involved with Walter who ends up getting her husband killed>Son wants him dead because he knows what his father is>His entire drug empire has been taken over by neo-Nazis>Loses the vast majority of his money to the nao-Nazis which was the entire point of him getting into this business in the first place>The guy he was partnered with and treating like his son he thought had been taken away and shot dead by said neo-NAzis only to find out he had been enslaved by them and remaking the his meth product for the past two years>He does get his revenge on everyone who wronged him but his own trap ends up killing him as well>Because he dies with a smile on his face this means Walter got what he wanted>In the end Walter's ego is what got him killedThis isn't a happy ending. It was a cautionary tale about how one's ego can lead them down a path of ruination not just for them but others around them.
>>211732384It's a cautionary tale about smoking, idiot. Lung cancer, heisenberg (he smoked I think) etc.
>>211732475> A murderer, a terrorist, a druglordYeah only Government is allowed to do that.
>>211732475you just thinked like a brilliant sir!
>>211732435Walter didn't smoke.
>>211732473So you never learned anything about how letting your ego go unchecked is a bad thing?
>>211732840> So you never learned anything about how letting your ego go unchecked is a bad thing?I know the ramifications of ego, but BB isn't a cautionary tale about that.
>>211732840They didn't show Walt smoking because they didn't want to glamorize it.
>>211732840Idiot.
